Tools and Hardware Reviews of Renaissance Collection 600-Thread-Count Woven Cotton Stripe Queen Sheet Set, IvoryCustomer Review: Not first quality Summary: 3 Stars
I believed I purchase first quality as there was no indication to the contrary. Upon arrival when I set the bed I noticed many areas on the flat sheet appeared as if they had been bleached. For that reason I think the price was too high.
Customer Review: Not recommended Summary: 1 Stars
I was looking for sheets without the deep pockets as our Select Comfort mattress isn't very thick. The fitted sheet shrunk so much that it is very difficult to get on and the top sheet became very short. At least it wasn't a big expenditure and the other reviews warned of shrinkage so I took my chances. They are also a bit "scratchy" which may or may not get better with more use. I'll probably give them away and don't see any reason for you to buy them.
Customer Review: Not that special... Summary: 3 Stars
I have to admit that I expected a more luxurious feel with the 600 thread count...but really don't notice the difference. Was somewhat dismayed to learn that these sheets need to be ironed (according to care instructions)...ugh!
Customer Review: Not what I extected for 600 thread count Summary: 2 Stars
Sheets were not as soft as I expected for a 600 thread count sheet set. I ended up buying another set and this one is now stored away.
Customer Review: One set great, the other set not so much Summary: 3 Stars
This was a tough review and reading through other reviews I might have a clue as to why there are so many differing opinions.
I bought two sets of Queen sized sheets. One in Cafe and one in Ivory. I used the Cafe first and the Ivory sat in the package for a long time. I bought them for the guest room and hadn't needed them yet. My thoughts about the Cafe set: Not great. They were rougher than I would have expected for the high thread count and they barely fit on my pillow top mattress so it is a struggle every time I put them on. And as others noted they wrinkle terribly in the dryer. The color was perfect though and I've used them for quite awhile.
Then one weekend I was getting behind on laundry and decided to break the Ivory set out of the package. I tell you I cannot believe they are by the same manufacturer! The Ivory set is super soft, washes up nicely and doesn't wrinkle up like wadded paper in the dryer. They are wonderful!
Is it possible that the quality of the sheets varies depending on the color? Or is it maybe a crap shoot depending on what batch you happen to get?
I really want to toss the Cafe set and would like to order another pair as a second set......but do I order another Ivory and hope they are as nice or risk ordering another set of Cafe and see what happens? I could of course go find a completely different set, but now I am really curious.
If you're interested in which color I purchased check back in couple of weeks and I'll let you know what I decided and the results!
