This intercom system worked great right out of the box. Easy to use. Most surprising was how small the units are. I was not eager to have a big black unit on our kitchen island. I was very pleased when I saw their small size. I would definitely recommend them.
By the way, the transmission issue is overcome if you simply instruct your family to press and hold the talk button until after the beep is finished before they start talking. If you simply wait a half second there is no dropped transmission. My 7 year old got the hang of it in 2 minutes.

The RWIS Wireless Intercom System comes with two intercoms, allowing you to easily set up communication between two rooms up to a thousand feet from each other. Since the intercom runs on batteries, there are no wires or power connections required, giving you flexibility regarding placement. Each unit uses four AA batteries, which powers the unit for a year. You can also use an optional AC adapter to power the intercom.
The system is compatible with all Chamberlain wireless intercoms, so you can easily add more intercoms wherever you need them.
Conference Mode Allows For Multiple Simultaneous Conversations
In normal mode, two intercoms can communicate with each other. But with the flip of a switch, you can set multiple intercoms to Conference Mode, which allows all of them to communicate simultaneously.
Keep Tabs on Another Room with Monitor Mode
Another handy feature is the Monitor Mode, which allows you to monitor all the sounds in a specific room. You can use this mode, for example, to keep tabs on a baby in another room or to keep track of pets outside.
Voice Activation Feature Makes Answering Easy
When you set the intercom to Voice Activation mode, you can answer a call by simply speaking loudly into the intercom instead of having to walk over to the intercom and push the Talk button.
