Tools and Hardware Reviews of Rockwell RK5102K SoniCrafter Deluxe 72-Piece KitCustomer Review: Good Tool Summary: 4 Stars
Used this tool pretty hard and it has held up so far, and it did the job as advertised.......Rockwell RK5102K Sonicrafter Deluxe 72-pc Kit
Customer Review: Good Tool, but bad accessories Summary: 3 Stars
The Tool is absolutly one of my favourite tool. However, the quality of the accsories, the sanding pad and the finger sanding pad, are very bad. Those pad got very hot and melted when i only used them for 3 minutes for my wood floor project. They can no longer attach the sandin sheets anymore. I call the customer service immediately, and they are telling you to buy new pads. They don't care even you bought it recently.
Think twice if your major reason to buy this tool is for sanding purpose. Other than that it's an handy tool. It's just not for sanding.
Customer Review: Good and bad Summary: 4 Stars
I agree 100% with most of the other posters as far as this tool is loud and after using for a short time your hands are tingling and hot.
They should have used a fine thread for the tool attachment so it would stay tight.
But it will do the jobs that no other tool can do when in a pinch.
eg. There was a rotted 2 X 4 that someone had used as an outside corner board then installing the siding with a rotted spot in the middle of it.
It cut straight into the board without having to remove the whole board and replacing.
My biggest customer is using it to remove grout and likes it.
We just used it to under cut the door jams when intalling tile in a bathroom. The tricky part was no other tool could have cut out half of the jam like I wanted it
Works great to cut holes in sheetrock for old constrution boxes.
I see where a lot of people were raving about the nice box there's came in. Mine came in a simple cloth bag.
As far as finding sand paper I just use my hook and loop paper that I already have and just cut it to fit.
I agree that vacuum pick up is a joke.
Customer Review: Good for small work Summary: 4 Stars
Points to note.
1) Makes a lot of noise. and the noise level actually go up when u try to cut something.
2) Cuts to nails hammered in wood but doesn't cut wood smoothly.
3) Blades heat a lot quickly.
4) Time difference between manually cutting 18mm ply and using this tool. (manually it would have taken me 20 mins, using soniccrafter it takes me around 12-15 mins. If i use bench saw it would have done the work in < 3 mins.
5) Vaccum pipe is a joke. Attach it along with a vaccum cleaner and it makes a shrill whistling noise. and then if you attach it to the soniccrafter it increases the noise level. Best not to use it.
6) Tool it self is very handy helps me in cutting, sawing, sanding, and a lot of other stuff which would have taken a lot of time for me.
7) -Ve - Takes a while to change the blade
Customer Review: Good for the price. Summary: 3 Stars
Good tool for the price as compared to its competitor. I've only used it on light jobs but it performed well.
I don't like the inconvenience of having to use the hex key to change attachments or to adjust their angles. Another concern is that the head gets very hot to the touch, which worries me about the life expectancy of this tool.
Otherwise, so far, so good. I'd recommend it.
