This tool does have the power to do significant paint scraping and other tasks. While having to use an hex key to change ends is cumbersome, the power in this tool is pretty significant. The bag carrying case is ok for the carriage of the tool But the versatility is fantastic. Best to wear gloves for paint scraping. The manual shows bare hands.Customer Review: Good to Go

I received my Sonicrafter about a month ago and have used it on a couple of projects. My co-worker and I have made the same comment - "how did we get along without this tool." Very flexible and durable.
I say durable and then I must say that the on/off switch became intermittent. I called Rockwell and they are shipping me a complete new kit! No issues, no push back. They are sending a new one even before I return my old tool! I really appreciate a company with that kind of attitude. Things happen, tools break, so I will give them the benefit of the doubt as long as they have such a great support policy.

I sure wish I had this in my productive years instead of my later years. This is one great tool, but does get very hot in a short period of time. If I had to do it over again, I would buy the one made in Germany even though it cost more.

I bought the Sonicrafter a while back and I've done quite a few projects with it. I cut out a place in our kitchen cabinets so I could install a dishwasher for my wife. I don't know if I could have done this using any other tool. I was so impressed with it I took on another project in the kitchen. I refaced all of our kitchen cabinets. My wife is very impressed with how they turned out and so our my neighbors. I also used it to sand down and repair a rusted up hot water tank on my Son-in-law and daughters camper. My Son-in-law and daughter were both amazed at how well it turned out. Then my Son-in-law was working on the roof of the camper with a putty knife trying to remove old caulking and other debris and needless to say he was getting nowhere, so I brought out the Sonicrafter and put on the blade to remove putty and in no time he was finished with his camper roof. He told my daughter he wanted one of these for Christmas. Then last week my neighbor asked me if he could borrow it. He wanted to install some laminate flooring in a couple of closet. He used it cut under trim around the doors and corners. He said he tried to remove the baseboard but he could not get it loose so, he just ran it behind it and cut the nails off. He told me his daughter kept asking him if he liked the Sonicrafter. He told her
he really liked it and would like to have one. I think he may get one for Christmas.
