Tools and Hardware Reviews of Rubbermaid 3B2803BLTN 60-Inch Breathable Wardrobe Storage, Blue

Customer Review: Can't assemble
Summary: 2 Stars

I ordered this from Walmart "ship to store". While the box arrived somewhat beat up (and appeared to have been a re-sale from an earlier return) the parts appeared to be in original factory shape. Problem is, I have no assembly instructions included. The Rubbermaid site does not list this product, so nothing to download, and no search results for this were found. I hope this 60" wardrobe works out, but am spending way to much of my Sunday trying to put it together with all the pieces marked A, B, C, E etc. It sortof sucks.

Customer Review: Cheap plastic & busted zippers
Summary: 1 Stars

I should have read the review for the smaller wardrobe that's also on sale here. First, this is product is annoyingly difficult to put together and is entirely made of plastic. As I put clothes in it, the whole started to sag toward the center, putting outward pressure on the corners until finally I heard cracking noises. Several of the joints cracked and the unit started sagging, putting further pressure on the other plastic joints.

I duct taped the joints, but it would end up sagging the next day. Finally, the zipper up at the top completely popped out of place. We're tossing this tomorrow and buying something a little better.

I used to think Rubbermaid was a decent brand, but I was sorely mistaken. Don't make the same mistake I (and that other guy i the other review did). Skip this product!

Customer Review: DISAPPOINTED

I AM SO DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS COMPANY I ORDERED A PRODUCT THAT WAS NOT IN STOCK AND THE COMPANY DIDNT BOTHER TO TELL ME UNTILL 2 DAYS AFTER I HAD PAID FOR THE ITEM.NOTE TO SELF NEVER ORDER AGAIN

Customer Review: Don't loose the instructions - they can't be replaced
Summary: 2 Stars

Overall the wardrobe is an OK value for the money. It is easy to assemble IF YOU HAVE THE INSTRUCTIONS. So, DON'T LOOSE the instructions - they can't be replaced. I lost mine and they can NOT be found on the internet - I saw at least 20 or more other people trying to find the assembly instructions and zero resolution. RubberMaid has no listing for this item and does NOT respond to requests for help in obtaining a copy of the instructions. I now have a wardrobe I can't remember how to assemble - will probably have to trash this item - what a waste. Hey RubberMaid, get your act together! - your support on a scale of 1 to 10 is a 1, very very poor. I won't buy from RubberMaid again.

Customer Review: Don't plan on it being permanent.
Summary: 1 Stars

I've had this portable closet to store part of my jersey collection, and it finally gave out for good. First came the pop. The layers of duct tape wrapped around the cracked plastic joints just couldn't hold it together any more. When I turned my head around to look, then the topple. It's ugly. One of the lower metal bars is jutting through the fabric like a broken bone piercing through the skin.

From day one, it just could not keep itself upright, let alone together. I had to store things at the bottom of that flimsy cardboard bottom just to weigh it down to keep it from falling over on top of me while I slept. Take it apart and put it back together again, relocating cracked part A pieces from the top with the undamaged part A pieces at the bottom. Then, those broke too. Then the most important piece in the middle, part M cracked. Slathered on some epoxy and held together for awhile, before it cracked apart again. That's when the duct tape came in. It held on for month after month for as long as it could before it finally met is fate today.

I'd send in for replacement parts for the broken stuff, but history would just repeat itself. As I'm dismantling the broken frame, the metal bars have not bended, so there's no problem with those. It's the plastic parts that brought everything down.

Maybe if it were all metal instead of partly plastic, it'd be a long term solution, but with all the plastic parts, it's not worth the time and trouble if you're going to have to buy something new when the old one breaks.
