Customer Review: Love it, very sturdy even in Drywall

My number one concern prior to buying this was that I am in new construction with metal beams; so I would be using the drywall anchors solely and I had a ton of clothes; my guess it probably something like 160 pounds of stuff total for the closet. Well after installation the whole system (even without going into studs) was very sturdy.
I looked very closely at the Rubbermaid and Closetmaid systems and also looked at some of the custom closet solutions (Like elfa). I ended up going with the Rubbermaid and am very happy I did; the production value on the Rubbermaid top notch, very sturdy with good finishes, plenty of parts. Using the wall anchors I piled everything into a 4' closet with I would say about 95% utilization.
I had a Closetmaid partical board system before and although it cost the same amount roughly... it wasn't configurable, had cheaper parts, worse clothes rod, and a cheaper less sturdy feel.

It is significantly cheaper to buy it directly from rubbermaid and pay the shipping. I saved about $100 on an order that came to $350 on Amazon. At Rubbermaid it was $250 for the exact same pieces. I canceled the Amazon order and ordered it from rubbermaid site. I was reading reviews and saw that someone else said that, so I checked. sure enough, much cheaper buying direct. I have the system in four closets and just love it. easy to install and very sturdy. totally customizable.Customer Review: Made my wife SOOOO Happy

The shelving lived up to its promise. Fairly easy to install, very solid. Instructions were relatively easy to follow. Both ends of the box were open when it was delivered, but all the parts were there.
How did it make my wife happy? We cleaned out her closet and discovered that the old wire shelving was about to collapse. We own a double-wide, and the inside walls are gypsum board over studs, not sheet rock - in other words, soft. After installing the primary hanging bar (my name for it) and anchoring it to the studs, it was pretty simple to attach the arms and shelves. She now has A LOT more space to hang her clothes. Up to that point, she was having to decide whether to give away some clothes or put some in tubs and store them in the garage. Now she has ALL of them, organized. She is immensely happy with this product.

Overall, we're please with this closet kit, which we used to a create a closet in an extra room. It was fairly easy to put up, although it appeared our kit was missing a couple pieces. Still, we were able to do what we wanted with what we had. So far, it's remained sturdy and given that it's being used by a teenage boy, that's saying a lot. He's got all of his close hanging on it and stuff on the shelves. It's really helped him get more organized. We may be purchasing another kit to better organize another closet in our house.Customer Review: Organize anything

This is my 5th purchase of these shelving units. 3 bedrooms, a pantry, and the entry closet. The best part is how easy they are to install and how multi-functional they are. The only drawback is that they are always sold as 'closet' organizers so I have enough clothes rods to hang up 10 people's clothes.
