The Rubbermaid was easy to install no sawing or cutting and can be changed or updated if your needs change. I worked slow and careful but still the job was done in about 4 hours, I added a slide out drawer later and it mated with my existing work no problem. This is a versatile product. My husband and I installed it in under an hour and I have changed the configuration several times. It has tripled if not quadrupled the amount of storage space in my closet. It is an excellent buy for the money and I highly suggest that anyone that has trouble keeping organized or has what seems to be a small closet purchase this item....you will not be disappointed.Customer Review: An affordable solution to a 1947 closet!

We live in a home with shallow but wide closets with standard size doors. Much of my closet was hidden by wall. Prior to installing the system, I had one wooden shelf on top with a 5-foot rod.
I bought this in the hopes of adding at least 2 feet of hang space plus shelving for shoes and folded clothes.
For a person who is not handy at all, this project was manageable. Ripping out the old shelf, spackling, and repainting the dark strip where the old shelf and supports had been took longer than assembling the unit itself. Counting wait time and running to the store to get paint and supplies a few times took about 3 afternoons. I assembled the closet configuration in about a day, but I had to redrill some holes because I mismeasured/used my level to determine where to drill holes for the bottom of the uprights rather than the little plastic covers, as suggested.
I ended up getting my extra 2 feet of hang space plus shelving for shoes and clothes. The unit feels sturdy and looks more expensive than it is. Instead of using the wall anchors included, I went to Home Depot and purchased some Stud Savers which are supposed to hold 50 pounds of weight apiece.
A good product for the money.

I have an older home and a small 7 ½ ft closet. It was very hard to stay organized in such a small place. This is a great system. My husband had it installed in about 2 hours. It is attractive and sturdy. I am very pleased and would recommend this product it any one. Amazon's free shipping is a steal only order from them. With that said go to Rubbermaid's web site and look at the photo gallery for these systems. It has some great ideas. Again great system at a great price.
