I bought this, but it sat in a box for over 4 months because I was scared of the setup. A friend finally forced me into just doing it, and it took less than an hour for the whole deal. It was so quick that I can't believe I let it sit in a box.
A level (the tube with the bubble) proved very useful.
Anyway, it's sturdy, set up so easily, and I love the bars that let you slide hangers all the way across.
It's also nice looking. If you don't need a formal look, you could isntall this directly on an exposed wall for a sort-of utilitarian look. That's actually what I did, and as long as the clothing is neatly hung, it actually looks great.
No complaints whatsoever.

After looking at many different closet systems from many different manufacturers with a wide range of price tags, we finally settled on the Rubbermaid system based on the claimed ease of assembly, the appearance, the value, and of course the reviews on Amazon. It was a great call. Once we got wall anchors, it took us a single evening (actually, a couple of hours after dinner) to put up the shelves. The system is not only sturdy, but it's well finished, too. I don't have to worry about my silk scarves snagging on rough metal edges. I also particularly like the clever design of the clothes rods, which provide solid support while allowing most hangers to slide smoothly from one end to another.
As our closet is just over 6 ft long, we didn't end up using all the pieces, but the extra flexibility afforded by the system still made this a better deal for us than the 3-6' deluxe set or the classic set. As we have a great deal of clothes to hang and blankets to store, we didn't have any room (or need) for the accessories. Instead, we use plastic boxes to keep the items on the shelves organized.
My only complaint is the plastic pieces on the support brackets, which are meant to lock the shelves in place, can break. (Two of ours came broken, but fortunately we didn't need them.) Due to this fragility, I considered giving this a 4 star rating instead, but ultimately 5 stars seemed to reflect the product quality more closely. I'm also a bit disappointed that we don't have any room at the bottom to store shoes and things, but it's not exactly Rubbermaid's fault that tall people have jackets that brush the ground.

I just received my closet kit today and in just two short hours had the organizer up and was hanging my clothes. All the pieces fit well and the system as a whole is very sturdy and looks great. I recommend viewing the installation video provided by Amazon. I actually kept it running on my computer as I was working, it was very helpful and I really didn't need to look at the written instructions. I installed this closet system in about an hour and 1/2. The directions are very clear, all the parts where there and intact/undamaged. The system seems sturdy and extremely well made. Could configure this in a zillion different ways. The only thing I would do to make it better is include a couple more end caps for the hang rods. I ran a little short on those with the configuration that I chose. Nothing that I can't resolve on my next trip to any home improvement store. My friend and I put this together in my closet today. Oh my gosh what a difference it made! It was incredibly easy to assemble, and it looks beautiful. Best of all, the organization that it gave me allowed me to fit a lot more stuff in my closet, and things are now easier to find and less likely to get wrinkled or damaged! My closet used to have the standard white wire rod and single shelf that the builder installed - utter crap. This is like having a California Closet compared to that, but at a much more reasonable price! The deals Amazon offers on these kits are not to be missed and a great value. And if you have Prime and can get the two-day shipping for free, it's an outstanding deal! Just be cautioned that the box was very heavy.
It's definitely easier to install with two people. Some tools (drill, hammer, level) are required. And the first track goes on the wall pretty high up (86.5"), so you'll need a closet with a high enough ceiling and a stepstool. Watching the instructional video in the product description page was helpful as well.
I love these Configurations kits and will be buying more of them, to do the other side of my walk-in closet as well as my husband's. The brushed steel color is especially elegant, and the accessories that are available are really nice too. Big thumbs up!
