I got this for my kitchen to reach the highest shelves way in the back stuff. I am 6ft tall but still couldn't reach everything. I'm a size 16 so I am no small person but well under the weight limit. I have many physical disabities and arthritis and it works well for an older person like me.
I tried the stool first thing and it is very sturdy, no wobble or feeling like it was not going to support me. It locks in place when open. I was delighted too to find that it stands freely when closed. I can keep it between the stove and counter so no running to farthest room in the house to get the other step stool.
I can highly recommend this product. I might add that I am afraid of heights and I can stand on the top step just fine, one more step and no way I'd do it.

It's lightweight and folds for easy storage. The non-skid surface on the bottom keep it from sliding and make it feel extra secure. I purchased the Rubbermaid 4209 EZ Step Folding Stool to keep in my walk-in closet. The shelves in the closet are too high for me to reach so I decided this stool would be the perfect solution and I was right. Its very slim size when folded up allows me to stand it out of the way in the closet and yet at easy access when needed. It is extremely sturdy and holds a pretty hefty weight limit, too. I love this stool.
