I've owned this stool for 5-10 years. During much of that time, I weighed 300 pounds and more. It holds more weight than many ladders do. I always felt safe on this stool--it's durable and safe. If I did, believe me, you can feel safe on it too.Customer Review: Very Handy

I got this "for me". I was tired of climbing on a chair every time I needed to reach up into the back of the top shelf. So looked around here at Amazon and found this.
Amazon had it here in a few days and it really is great. When not in use it folds up easy and when you do need a step up this is so easy to open up and very solid.
Rubbermaid did it again.

The step stool is everything reviewers have said; light weight, incredibly sturdy, easy to open and close and best of all, easy to store. It takes up very little space and stands on its own when closed. It's just an incredibly simple but clever design. With most of the women in the house in the 5' range, give or take a few inches, this has made life in the kitchen a whole lot easier. Hi, I've had this stool for last 2 years, but from some store in Canada. It has very strong construction and the 1st step is only on one side of the ladder. I've used this stool many times as a sitting stool also and the first step serves as a good foot-rest.
It's very light and can stand by itself as folded-in.
The only negative thing I would say is that the black pads at the bottom part of the legs tend to leave some marks on the hard-wood after repeated use.. or if you leave it standing at some place for too loog. But, you could use floor protector or any kind of carpet for that too.
Overall, great buy.
