Within 24 hours a container of strawberries had become mushy and one started to mold. The drainage tray takes up considerable amount of space at the base of the container and while the tray keeps the produce from setting in water the container itself is not ventilated enough to prevent condensation from building on the fruit thus supercharging the conditions necessary to grow mold and mildew.
I was not able to put all the fruit in the container and upon comparison to the fruit left in the packaging from the store it was proven that it was not the fruit that was spoiling but the container that was holding in the moisture.
I'm not sure about other fruits and vegetables but on slightly moist/plump fruit (strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries,) It failed miserably.

I purchased grapes over 2 weeks ago, and those that remain are still fresh (not soft) in the medium size contain. I have no regrets and would recommend these to anyone asking for suggestions on produce containers. I plan to test lettuce next and will update this, if I remember.

We LOVE berries. Unfortunately strawberries do not live long, but with these containers they seem to last about a week longer than just keeping them in the plastic container they come in. I plan on buying set's of these for my Mom and MIL because I think they'll like them as much as I do. ALSO, they are BPA free.
