Customer Review: Great BPA-free food storage set!!!

I bought a set of those containers from Target a year ago. They definitely extend the life of produce because they elevate the produce so it keeps the moisture out and have ventilation openings in the lid so that the produce doesn't "suffocate". I store my broccoli, berries, spinach and lettuce in them and they keep fresh for at least a week but we eat them way before then. They are also BPA-free! Huge plus when buying food containers because you don't want any chemicals leaching into your food.
Other great containers I'd like to recommend are the FRESHVAC PRE VACUUM FOOD STORAGE and the Debbie Mayers Green bags. I use the Freshvac containers for storing in the freezer and for liquid foods. The Green bags are great for leafy veggies and for storing produce in room temperature.

We picked these up on a whim as a Friday sale item a few months ago and over-all we are happy with them. Like many people we try to incorporate more fruits and veggies into our diet and we do notice that produce does stay fresh longer and nicer in these than in their original packaging. They stack nicely and over-all help keep the produce drawer better organized. They also feature Rubbermaid's lid stackers so everything stores nicely. If you can get a deal on these I recommend them.Customer Review: Great Product

For a while I was complaining that the containers were not large enough for a head of lettuce, and then all the sudden when looking in my cupboard I found the large one. I guess I threw it in there and forgot about it. I tried the bags that have slits, and while they work, they don't last long. I love these containers and use them daily. Like one person said, you have to be careful to not toss out the insert though.Customer Review: Great Value but avoid the microwave

I've been unfortunate in being a little over-zealous with purchasing day-old produce, intending to eat it right away. I never do, end up throwing it away, therefore not really saving any money! It's a vicious cycle where I trick myself into thinking I got a good deal, but the wasting isn't. Anyway, we stuck some mixed greens that were already getting a little slimy on the bottom of the store package, and it really saved the rest of them! I was shocked. I also normally don't store fruit in the fridge, but now I do, because these containers simply keep them longer. I can't believe it. I hand-wash them, even though I think it says they are top-rack dishwasher safe, but since the lids don't snap on very tightly (I think it must be a part of the air circulation design) I'm afraid of even slight warping. No biggie. Because the 4-pack price is so good, I often buy them for wedding gifts, too.
