Don't waste your money on this pile. I have purchased many Rubbermaid items over the years and I trusted the brand... my mistake. The lid and base are improperly sized and do not snap closed. There is a lip on the base and catches on the lid but despite this fact the lid just drops over the lip with zero resistance. I am frequently bringing baked goods as my contribution to get-togethers since I am gluten-intolerant and usually cannot eat what is served. I'd tired of trying to carry the goods on paper plates messily bound with plastic wrap and decided to buy this item. I haven't actually used it yet. It is HUGE, which is nice when needed for layer cakes, however, seems to be overkill for snack cakes and cookies! It is also somewhat difficult to find a place to store it! The other day, I found one made by a different (knock-off) company at the discount store for one-third the price. I was pretty upset until I tried to get the bottom of the "knock off" item to actually stay on! It didn't. One thing about this cake keeper is that the bottom does seem to snap onto the lid quite snugly and well. Whew! I think it is a quality item, although, because of the size, it is one of those that I probably won't use as often as I'd thought I would.
