I live in a small space and need things that do double duty. This hamper looks good enough to leave out in my bedroom and is easy to take straight to the laundry. I had a wheeled, fold-up hamper that I just loved (it was light and folded up to store under the bed) and had a separate, attractive hamper to hold dirty clothes between trips to the laundry. I liked this best, but was unable to find another fold-up cloth hamper that worked as well as my original. This rubbermaid is a good compromise. It rolls well and is fairly lightweight.Customer Review: I love this wheeled laundry basket!

I've had two Rubbermaid Wheeled Hampers. One of the wheels have broken off with each one of them. My mom has gone and screwed the wheels back somehow and it lasts for a bit longer, but eventually I know I'll need another one when that happens. They are sturdy though - I've had two in the last 11 years. I can stuff a good three loads of laundry into it.
As for the short handle - I've wrapped a bungie-style cord around the handle and drag the hamper by that instead of the handle. Otherwise, I found myself hunched over while walking and it bothered my back.
The noise the wheels make is horrible. But you know what? My laundry room is across the parking lot and I can't carry three loads of laundry. Everyone knows I'm doing laundry when I drag my cart across the lot.

I ordered this hamper because the identical one broke (a wheel fell off and no way to fix it). Unfortunately, the same very model is now heavier and noisier. It rattles and scratches the floor. The blue handle is too short for anyone above 5 feet. I see no improvement in design. Yet, the item is now more expensive. I guess it is no surprise for anyone.
