Tools and Hardware Reviews of Rubbermaid Wheeled Hamper - WhiteCustomer Review: good but could be better Summary: 4 Stars
Yes, it needs to be taller (or to have a longer handle), and it needs rubber wheels. It's pretty good as is - I put an old belt around the handle so I don't have to bend over to pull it, but the plastic wheels are noisy and one came off and is now lost so it's pretty useless. I'm thinking of getting another but wish I could find something with the above improvements. Addendum: Recently I did find something better at The Container Store. It's very similar but the handle can be pulled up or pushed down to a comfortable level. It's by Sterlite and only cost $16.99. I don't know how it will hold up as it's still new - it also has plastic wheels.
Customer Review: nice hamper Summary: 4 Stars
so far it works - its a decent size for a full load of laundry.
Customer Review: really bad design, but the only thing out there like it... Summary: 3 Stars
As a few other reviewers have noted, this laundry hamper is terribly designed. The handle is way too short, even for people who aren't that tall, and the cheap plastic wheels feel like they're going to fall off fresh out of the box. I only use it on hardwood floors and the concrete basement floor, and it rattles and complains as if i'm taking it off-roading. If there were any other hamper like this, i'd have gotten it instead. I'd rate the quality and construction of this item as a solid 1 star out of five, unless they knock the price down to something like $7.
But, sadly, this item is apparently unique. I need a hamper like this with wheels, and this is all there is. So because it fills an otherwise empty niche, i'll give it three stars, and wait for any company in the world to figure out how to make a plastic hamper with a handle that's more than 6 inches long, and wheels that actually work.
