For such a reasonable price ($15.50), I did not expect this item to be solid or of the quality it showed when I got it. The last loupe I had (granted it was a double one (20x and 30x) and bought 8 years ago) cost me over $70. This was a 'tide me over' loupe until I could re-order another one like the one I had previously and misplaced while moving. Now I can postpone buying another as this serves the purpose quite well and didn't put me out of funds too much.For the gem and stone hobbyist, I recommend this product highly.Customer Review: Great Quality!

It took me a while to find this eye loupe and I was hesitant to purchase because of the lack of feedback. However, this item was a steal for the price that I paid. It comes in a nice leather case. I bought this item because I started looking through my old coins for any valuable coins, and sometimes you need to magnify the coin in order to tell if you really have a coin worth money. The optics are great, although I'm still getting used to just how close you need to hold it to the object, but I am slowly getting more and more used to it.
I also have been able to view the edges on my chisel set to see how I need to grind them better.
Like others have stated, it would be nice if there were a light on this item, but for 12 bucks, I'll use a desk lamp instead.
As a little side-note, I used my cell phone camera with this loupe and was able to capture a decent picture of something at magnification. With a little Macgyver-action, I should be able to possibly set up a webcam to use as a handy way to easily look through my coin collection!
I would recommend this product to anyone who is curious about how things look under magnification!

I was browsing through Amazon looking for nothing in particular when I came across this. I read the reviews and had to get one just to look at random things on boring days. Ordered it and it was shipped the next day and I got it a day after. Mint condition. You def have to have it like on your eye and then close to what you want to look at but it is so amazing when you get things into focus. Now I have a new hobby. Waiting for the bugs to come around in the summer :D
