This cooler works pretty well, all in all.
The only downside is that it starts smelling after a couple of weeks. To fix this we need to drain all the water inside it, and then dry the tank. This involves unscrewing the back of the cooler & some manipulation to dry the space.
Being the man of the house, guess who's job it is....

The fan on this unit is great, it's quiet, but I don't notice the water cooling. I'm in the dry arizona desert so I thought this would work. I usually just run it without water though. For the price, a normal fan would be a better deal.Customer Review: Great for low humidity area

It is a great air cooler, but it does not make air super chilled, even if you add like a gallon of ice to it...and it is loud for a room with TV close to bed...you might want to put that in consideration.Customer Review: Great price for what it offers

OKay so my apartment is so !@#$ hot in Tucson, AZ that my poor, defenseless ferret would die if the rickety window A/C went out and I wasn't here to turn it off, wait 30 min, and turn it back on.
This product (evaporative cooler) didn't affect the overall temperature that much (or at all really) but it creates a nice little "comfort zone" in front of it.
Anyway, I'm happy enough to now buy a second one for the other room of the apartment.

This is a great cooling system for the price. It's quiet enough that you can have it running while you're watching TV and not have to crank the volume all the way up. Also, the company that makes the air cooler is easy to work with as well. If there happens to be something wrong with the system, they'll replace it BEFORE you even send back your original system, so you don't have to go without. Very nice and a lot of bang for your buck! Side note, I live in a non-humid climate, which helps how well it works.
