Very solid, easy to use. I have a 5.5amp corded drill, an 18v cordless and a bit brace; after using this, I think they'll all see a lot less action. For small jobs and precise results, this is unbeatable. I would highly recommend it as a relatively safe alternative for children who can't yet use a powered drill. note: this not a full-sized hand drill, it is smaller, but that's a big part of its appeal for me.Customer Review: Great little drill.

This is the first hand drill I've ever owned. It's handy having around for quick fix jobs without having to get my electric drill from the tool chest or charging the battery in my cordless. Excellent quality and easy to carry in a tool belt.Customer Review: Great tool for kids

I bought this for my 10 year old son's birthday. Until now, the only medium that he has worked in is masking tape. The day I saw him trying in vain to tape 2 pieces of wood together was the day I knew he needed to start learning and working with hand tools. He wants to go it alone, so I needed to find tools safe enough for him. This drill is perfect. He's used it along with other kid sized hand tools every day since he received it as a gift. He's made some pretty incredible projects, all by himself. This thing works great, and with the big, orange wheel is easy to spot on a table full of tools. It's a real tool, not a toy. My dad had one of these when I was a kid and I finally got one for myself. It's very handy for light work. For so many of those small jobs you don't want to have to drag out that big heavy drill. Just leave this in your small tool bag or that 'tool drawer' in your kitchen, and you have a handy drill for those small jobs.Customer Review: High Quality for a very good price

As other reviewers have pointed out, Schroeder makes fine tools and this is no exception. I got it to teach my grandsons how to use hand tools and appreciate them. It is ashamed the old American companies that made these and other tools are all gone now mostly and those that are left make a very limited line of tools. Buy this one if you need a good quality hand drill the rest of the stuff is overpriced or junk. I have seen this unit go for more than 3x this price.
