Tools and Hardware Reviews of Schroeder Hand Drill 1/4-Inch CapacityCustomer Review: Ideal small hand drill. Summary: 5 Stars
This drill is worth at least twice the price. I had to do some very fine smithing with very small drill bits. The Schroeder drill gave me an exceptional level of control plus exceptional feel for what was occurring as I slowly bored in. Without it I could have possibly ruined a very expensive machined piece that I was modifying.
Customer Review: It makes holes. Summary: 5 Stars
That's what it's for and it does it well. It's well made, but it is not for gorilla work. Use it for smaller holes especially in hard to reach places. It's a welcome addition to my shop.
Customer Review: No surprises Summary: 4 Stars
Like other reviewers, i was surprised at how small this was, but it does what it was meant to do (which for the time being was just drilling a minor hole in a not all that challenging wall).
Customer Review: Not as easy as it looks! Summary: 1 Stars
I really hoped that this drill was going to be easy to use. It came without directions or anything else in the box for that matter. We purchased the recommended drill bits that Amazon suggested and I have now broken 2 of them w/in 24 hours of getting this drill. The drill pinches your skin when you try to put drill bits in. My son cut his finger on the drill on his first try turning the handle. I can get drill bits into wood but cannot get them back out!
I will now just go buy an electric drill, whick I should have done in the first place!! Review: Not very true Summary: 3 Stars
In my case I bought the hand drill for delicate work on a guitar. The drill will not be usable because the chuck is not straight. When you turn the crank the drill bit wobbles. This will make a much larger hole than desired. I'm already using a 1/16 bit so I really can't go smaller. I suppose this may suffice for some cabinet building but I would think for something like that you would opt for a power drill.
