I purchased this safe to provide theft and fire protection for our passports, birth certificates, credit cards, deeds, wills and other financial instruments. Unfortunately this safe did not keep these items secure from a thief. A simple kitchen knife allowed the thief access to the safe and now we are going through the process of cancelling credit cards and bank accounts and notifying the credit bureaus of fraud. Know what your purchasing when you are looking for a safe to protect your personal and financial documents. This product is not it.Customer Review: Fire safe

I own this safe. I misplaced the keys. It took me 30 seconds with a reciprocating saw to open it. The lock bar is made of stamped steel. It cut like butter. If you are looking for theft security, spend the money to get a better safeCustomer Review: Forget the Fire- It Disintegrates All by Itself

I bought this for my dad 2 years ago. It is imploding from the center out and cracking on every seam. It can no longer be shut it is so disfigured.
It has been in the house in a gentle environment all this time. But don't worry....there's a manufacturer's warranty. Too bad it's for a one year. I guess they know it self-destructs in two.

Amazon has this at a wonderful price at the time of this review. It is large enough to keep a decent amount of documents and discs, and a few other valuables in. As intended, it is a firesafe - not burglar proof, so don't expect it to be. It is small enough to hide though and has no handles so can be a little awkward to carry around for its weight. I think that is a positive thing for security. Highly recommended.
