These inexpensive lanterns would be a very good deal if the manufacturer would have spent a little money on a decent switch. The switch is no more than one little piece of metal pressing down on another little piece of metal. In no time, the metal pieces lose contact. I had to take each lantern apart and bend one piece of metal so that it would contact the other piece of metal when you turned the knob on the switch. Yes, you can take them apart. It just takes a few minutes to figure out how.
