Tools and Hardware Reviews of Sh-Mop Hardsurface Floor MopCustomer Review: Better than anything else, and less expensive too Summary: 5 Stars
I love this "mop". it's not really a mop... but boy does it work. It's so simple and effective that I clean my floors all the time. I have all hardwood and tile floors. I can clean all the floors in my house, upstairs and down, and the stairway in a matter of minutes. It's amazing. buy lots of the cotton covers. I go through 10-20 each time I do a thorough cleaning. then pop them in the wash and i'm ready to go for next time. I just fill a sink with my cleaning solution (murphys oil soap for the wood floors and spic and span for the bathroom tile floors).. dip in a cotton cover, wring and slip it on the mop and wash away. when it's dirty i peel it off and toss it in the laundry basket and get another one. No buckets!!! the greatest...!!
Customer Review: Good mop but plastic handle broke Summary: 3 Stars
I guess I was just moping to hard and broke the plastic screw that connects the pole to the mop head. Lowes sold a wooden pole with a metal screw (not a plastic screw) that is the same thread for the Sh-Mop head for under $10.00.
The cloth mop covers are what make this mop so nice and how tight they fit around the mop head. They are a bit expensive but once you have 3 or 4 of them then you will never go back to a Swifter or other cheap mop like that.
Customer Review: Good, but ditch high shipping & try local alternatives first Summary: 3 Stars
I only researched this online before I bought it to use on my new hardwood floors. My husband was afraid that the vacuum would scratch them. I didn't purchase additional covers because the shipping cost was already high (shipping doubles the cost). I'm glad, as I find I'm not using the mop as often as I thought. It may be good for open spaces, but with lots of furniture to go around, it's simply easier to just vacuum--I can reach smaller spaces with the crevice tool. Also, after purchasing I have found several local alternatives (O-Cedar, Quickie, Rubbermaid) that look like they would work just as well for half the price(not paying shipping). The only difference I see is that these use a synthetic dust-cover; the Sh-Mop's is cotton. I can live with that. I think that the replacement covers for these mops will also fit the Sh-Mop. So yes, it's a good product; just evaluate how you'll be using it before you buy. I would definitely not spend $24 for it again for my use.
Customer Review: Great mop and duster! Summary: 5 Stars
A friend of mine owned the Sh-Mop and I used to borrow his. I finally bought my own two years ago. It is a great invention and well made. The low profile, the swivel action, the large surface and the removable covers make this a great tool! And the telescoping handle is also a huge plus! I use it to dust my wood floors (adding the cotton looped duster) and mopping my kitchen floors. I have pets, and the duster is a must have. Even though I do vacuum, the duster is like a magnet for fur and dust - especially in hard to reach places like under my bed making the floors extra shiny and clean. I just read some great advice here from other users comments - I will buy more cotton covers to make mopping even easier.
Customer Review: I Love This!! Summary: 5 Stars
As someone with a dog and 2 kids who just put their house on the market, this has been a life saver. Mopping floors is easy and quick, no longer a chore. My floors always look great and it is so simple. Highly recommend!
