Just before Christmas 2007, I was desperate to find a way to get my large tile kitchen floor clean without dreading the job. I did a lot of internet research and settled on the Hoover Flair to first vacuum up all the dirt.
But then I had to find a way to mop it. The last thing I wanted was to have to go to Wal-Mart to buy chemical-filled refills of some product. I just wanted to use a mop and water. Goodness, on a scale of 1-10, the Sh-Mop is about a 50. I absolutely LOVE it. I simply put hot water and a little Simple Green in a clean bowl in the sink, put in the cloth, wring it out, place it on the Sh-Mop, and off I go. It fits under the fridge and every protruding ledge. As soon as it gets a little dirty, I throw it in the washing machine and grab the next cloth. It takes about 5 to do my large kitchen floor. No more rinsing a dirty mop in dirty water and hoping to get your dirty floor clean. You are constantly applying a fresh, clean cloth and the floor really shows it.
The thing I like best is that if you clean your house for a party, and after the party the floor is already starting to look dirty again, you just grab that Sh-Mop and 3 minutes later you have a clean floor again. It's so EASY! You can just use plain hot water! BUT, it does help to vacuum first to get up the particles of dirt, and for that I strongly recommend the Hoover Flair. These two are perfect when used in combination with each other.
The bottom line is this: 6 months ago I DREADED washing my kitchen floor. I haven't dreaded it since using the Flair and the Sh-Mop. Not at all.

I purchased a Sh-Mop after seeing my housekeeping company use them. I love it because it is the easiest way to spot clean my stained concrete floor.
The Sh-Mop itself has a built-in scrubby pad on it; when you put a damp terrycloth cover over it and spray a little cleaner on the cloth, it gets everything off the floor, and covers a big space in a short amount of time. We have dogs, so dog drool and slobber is my biggest battle--but the Sh-Mop gets it all up, every time.
Using the dry terrycloth towels with a little bit of Pledge is also great for dry mopping wood floors, walls, ceiling fans and hard-to-reach air vents. Would highly recommend this product!

I agree with the other 5-star reviewers. I received my Sh-Mop and extra covers this past week and am very pleased with the results. This is WAY better than a Swiffer - cleans much better and faster and is economical with the washable covers. I do recommend ordering several extra covers. I've got two dogs that track in a lot of dirt, and I use five covers (both sides; when one side is dirty, I turn it inside out) for the living room, kitchen, entryway and hallway. And that is after vacuuming up the loose dirt. The Swiffer never picked up that much. I'd say it does as good a job as the old-fashioned hands-knees-scrub bucket, without the aches, pains and carting a bucket around. I'm getting one of these for my mom and have recommended it to other familiy and friends.
As an aside, I'd also recommend one of the BonaKemi cleaners for use with the Sh-Mop. They make one for hardwood floors and one for hard surface floors. Their cleaners are non-toxic and do a very good job.
UPDATE: I ordered a SH-Mop for my mom, and she loves it. One of my sisters was over at my mom's house while she was using it, was very impressed, and has ordered one for herself and another for my other sister. I can't say we're "loving" to mop (although my mom probably is), but as close as you can come to it.

I've gone through every type of "mop" available and this one is a 10 out of 10. I bought extra covers and use it for floors and windows, both inside and out. I've even given it as shower gifts and have been thanked over and over because it works so well. I wish they made a flexible one for tubs and shower stalls. No more wringing, no more stinky sponges. Just pop it in the wash, with a little bleach and you're ready to go. I hope whoever invented this product knows how much we appreciate it. ThanxCustomer Review: Love My Sh Mop

I bought one years ago and for some reason never really used it, when I went to look for it - it was gone :-(
We recently installed laminate flooring in the living room, long, large hallway and large kitchen of our second home. After mentally reconnecting with the SH Mop and reading the positive reviews, I ordered two of them (one for my vacation home and one for my residence) and a dozen terry covers - 6 to be used at my home. The new flooring was a bit dirty after it was installed, and I decided to use both of the Sh Mops - my husband sprayed a mixture of 1/8 of cup of white vinegar and one quart of plain water, and spraying a light misting over a small area, and immediately Sh Moped it to remove the dirt. I was right behind him, moping the damp floor with the second SH Mop.
It went so fast and we did all of the floors in no time - much faster than using one mop and changing it more often. It was so much faster and easier with the two of us working as a team. We changed terry covers several times.
I had been told by a company that sells them online or via telephone, that I shouldn't use bleach in the washing machine when washing the covers, because over time the bleach would weaken the elastic. He also said not of dry them all of the time in the dryer, as that too weakens the the elastic.
I have one of my probably 15 year old covers, but the elastic had been gone for years. I always dried it in the dryer. I still use it as a regular furniture dust rag and it is as good as new.
So, now I wash the covers in the washing machine and hang them up to dry, either inside or outside, depending on the weather.
One day I may have to do the floors by myself - and I will find out how much harder it would be for one person and two mops .... but for now, dear hubby is a life and time saver.
I am going to order two more SH mops for my residence and leave two at the vacation home.
You can get them cheaper by ordering from the manfacturer- google and you'll find them - the shipping is much cheaper too. There is also another site, Floor Clean or Cleaning, their prices are even cheaper than the manufacturer. I am going to order from them this time.
