Tools and Hardware Reviews of Sh-Mop Hardsurface Floor Mop

Customer Review: Love it
Summary: 5 Stars

Convenient cloths are machine washable, which is nice. The only thing it's not great for is scrubbing. But this is my only mop and I'm happy with my floors.

Customer Review: Love it
Summary: 5 Stars

The housecleaners I hired used this for EVERYTHING, including the walls/ceiling and used the straight edge to 'sweep' ahead of the wet bottom that was mopping. They made it look so easy and fun that I stopped using them and started doing the floors myself.

And it's just as fun & useful as it looked!

Customer Review: May be great for hardwood floors but ---
Summary: 2 Stars

When I read all the wonderful reviews for the Sh-Mop, I decided to give it a try. Well it may be the greatest thing since sliced bread for hardwood floors, but when it comes to mopping a large kitchen in a country home with men and pets, give me an old-fashioned bucket and mop any day. I really don't see how constantly wetting cloth covers, wringing them out and applying cleaner saves time. Plus you have to wash the terrycloth covers, SEPARATELY, since you would never want to wash the filthy things with anything else. I will admit the product is great for washing walls though, so I will keep the Sh-Mop, but to be honest, I don't think this product is any kind of a time-saver when it comes to kitchen floors.

Customer Review: My Favorite Mop for years and years!!
Summary: 5 Stars

Since I have 6 kids, I know a thing or two about dirty floors and needing an efficient way to clean them. This mop has been my favorite since the first time I used it almost 15 years ago. That was after using string mops, sponge mops, etc. for 20 years previously. With Sh-Mop, you simply start with a clean cover that you wet and wring (takes 10 seconds). I keep my Lysol cleaner in a spray bottle that has both a spray or stream setting on the nozzle- standard cleaning spray bottle. Then I stream the cleaner onto a patch of floor (like 1/4th of my kitchen) and go over it. Move to next patch, etc. If the cover looks pretty soiled then just remove it and turn it inside out and work on the other side. When that side is dirty too, then slip it off. I usually slip on on a clean one at the end and go over the floor with clear water. They machine wash great and last for years- saves money over buying disposable covers for those look alikes at the grocery store(which came out after Sh-Mop...) If I am doing my whole downstairs sometimes it can take 3-4 covers before I am done (4 boys). I have about a dozen so I am never caught without clean ones. PLUS the job goes really fast since the surface area is so large. No wringing! No streaking like sponge mops. No spilled mop water from someone bumping the bucket!
Bottom line: If you want a cleaner, faster, easier, cheaper way to clean your floors, try Sh-Mop!
(And no, nobody in my family works for Sh-Mop!)

Customer Review: Sh-Mop + Spray Bottle makes it easy
Summary: 5 Stars

I have used the Sh-Mop for years now. I clean houses every day and I clean a small hair salon once a week.

I load up spray bottles with various cleaning agents, my favorites are white vinegar and water or ammonia and water.

I vacuum the floor, spray it evenly with the cleaner of choice, work my way into the area using a forward/backward stroke, then work my way back out using a side-to-side stroke.

On wood floors I always do the final passes with the grain of the wood.

On tile floors I use 2 mop covers together to create a deep cleaning pad that really gets the grout wiped out.

In tiled showers I use the scrubbing pad on the Sh-Mop and my cleaner of choice, then slip on a cover or 2 and shine it all up, walls and floors alike.

At the hair salon I vacuum, then use ammonia/water with a FloorMate, then use the Sh-Mop to dry the floor.

I have used the Sh-Mop and Murphy's oil soap mixed with water in a spray bottle to clean wood paneling (walls), I have also used the Sh-Mop to apply polish to wood paneling.

I have used the Sh-Mop to clean windows, both inside and out with a mix of white vinegar and water, again applied with a spray bottle.

I keep a supply of a couple of dozen mop covers and I don't use bleach when I wash them, I think it would break down the elastic around the edge.

Now all I have to do is find my favorite spray bottles (Zep, long trigger pull) :~)
