I worked for a home cleaning company for a while and we used the Shi-mop and that's why I purchased it. I like the fact that it is more like washing the floor by hand but I don't have to get on my hands and knees to do it. I do occasionally need to get into the corners by hand. I buy several of the cotton covers and then when several of them get dirty I just wash them in the machine. They are made of cotton, so I like to hang them to dry. I usually have a bucket of water with some kind of a floor cleaning detergent and rinse the cover several times as I go along. Another way is to spray a cleaner on the floor and mop with a damp cover and then just change with a clean cover each time it gets dirty so that you don't need to get your hands in the water. You can also use the Shi-mop to clean laminate floors with the special floor cleaner. Just squirt the cleaner on the floor and mop the floor with a damp cover. It can be used on wood floors the same way.
I really love this kind of mop. I give it a four-star rating because I don't like to rinse out the cover with my hands, but like I said above, that can be eliminated by using several covers. I highly recommend this mop.

I was looking for a great mop to use in my house. I had a regular sponge mop that drove me crazy because it's so stif and it wasn't big enough for to clean my whole house. It took me about more than 30 minutes mopping my floors and the only areas I have to mop is the 2 bathrooms, livingroom, dining, kitchen and hallway. I decided to order this mop because of it's reviews and rating. I couldn't believe that such a great mop like everyone was saying it is was only $12. I tried the Swiffer Wet Jet and I hate it! I returned that to the store. So, then I saw this one, Sh-Mop, and decided to give a try since it had such great rating. So, I got it today in the mail and I just couldn't wait one week or so to try it to see what the big deal was all about. So, I took it out the box and decided to try it today. Let me just say that I hated mopping, and today was the fastest, easiet mopping day It took me less than 10 mins to clean my floors!!!!!! I was so excited!! This mop is bigger than the average mop and it's the best thing ever made!!! Now, I look forward to mopping every week. Before I used to mop once every 2 weeks because I hated mopping, but now, I'm going to mop once a week. I LOVE my Sh-Mop! I will NEVER go back to traditional mops. This is the best thing ever invented and I want to thank the guy who made this mop! I can't wait to tell my friends about the mop so they can get one too! Now, that I know it's an awesome mop, I will buy the additional Sh-wipes. I'm so excited!! Where, oh where has this thing been all my life? Mopping is my #1 most hated chore, until now. It became absolutely torturous when we moved into a 1600 sq ft base house that is ALL TILE! Yep, every freakin' room! I tried using the professional yarn mops, but they are impossible to clean. If you wash them by hand, they aren't clean enough. If I threw it in the washer, it would turn into string, even on the delicate cycle. With such a large area, a sponge mop or swiffer-type would be almost useless. I found the reviews here for the sh-mop and decided to give it a try. It took about 1/5th of the time my other mop used to! These floors have never been so clean! The floors ARE cleaner since you are always using a clean cover instead of a nasty rag or sponge that never really comes clean. I am definitely buying more covers, three just isn't enough for my house. If you are looking for ways to cut your cleaning time, this baby will absolutely do that. I got mine on ebay for pretty cheap which included the mop and three covers. A huge bonus is that with the washable covers, this is a much more "green" alternative to disposable mopping pads. My daughter cleans houses while attending college. She told me this is the mop we had to get and she was right! It's wonderful, cleans a large surface and you just toss the pad into the washer/dryer and you're good to go!
