Customer Review: Warps at high heat.

Got three of these based on the Cooks Illustrated review. Two of the three have warped so far when the temp gets above 450. I haven't used the other one yet at high heat because I want to keep at least one flat one! There are really two things you need to know about this pan: (1) There seems to be a variation in thickness from one pan to another, which probably accounts for the sometimes-it-warps, sometimes-it-doesn't opinions you see on these reviews. My caliper shows a significant variation, which suggests that the factory where these are made isn't as committed to quality as the company that ordered it! (2) The material is important - these are aluminum. Most reviews haven't focused on the fact that these will come out of the dishwasher looking like they were beadblasted, and will stain if used to cook anything acidic. That said, you're not going to find more metal for the money, as these are more sturdily built than most noncommerical stuff, AND although warp is annoying it only occasionally effects anything.Customer Review: Warps, but warps back!

I've been skeptical in purchasing the sheet pan after reading the reviews, but since CI recommended it so highly, I gave it a try anyway.
When the pan arrived, it looks very sturdy and doesn't seem like it would warp. Then we used it the first time in the oven for some filet mignon and afterwards when we were washing it, it was warped! I was pretty pissed off that it actually happened to me, but nothing much to do about it. We used it later to marinate some beef in the fridge, and after we took it out to cook, the sheet pan surprisingly became straight again! I don't really have an explanation as to how this works, but the pan is straight now, and I thought people would like to know.

I needed several heavy duty pans to roast vegetables and other foods in. I wanted pans that did not buckle wen taken out of the oven.
The first time I used them they immediately buckled. I was disappointed. Obviously they still function OK, but look horrible and store poorly.

The pan I received warps at 400 degrees and above. On the back is stamped Wear Ever 5314. I contacted Lincoln directly and I was told that they do manufacture Wear Ever but it is obviously the inferior product. They are sending me their 5303 pan which has a concavity and bead wire per their description, and is non-warping because of this. The Amazon order was fulfilled by a third party retailer and I apologize that I do not have the name with me, except that it contained the word "Gourmet". I suspect America's Test Kitchen tested the 5303 pan. If you order by clicking this link you may have the same problem.
