I purchased this vacuum based on other's recommendations. This was a great purchase. It works great and is so handy that I don't know how I got by without a shop vac before. I especially like the long hose. I can vacuum my stairs by leaving the canister downstairs and walking up the steps without the canister. I have used this extensibly for cleaning every area in my house including cleaning up water from our recent downpour in California and also sawdust from the construction workings putting in my new wooden floors. The suction power is fantastic. The only downside that I have found is that the canister tips over easily. I wish that the base was a bit more stable to prevent this. However, all in all it was a great purchase.
