I had a problem with these hooks when I first got them. They wouldn't slide smoothly along the metal rod, but the solution is to grease the rod with a thin layer of vaseline (because it won't dry up) Works like a charm!! Out with old (green plastic rings) in with the new (pewter hooks)! So easy to attach to the shower curtain and "hook" over the rod. I thought they would look great with my new curtain rod. Don't waste your time or money on these. They fall off the rod and often fall completely to the shower floor. They're heavy so they could break something...like an acrylic shower floor or a tile. I'm afraid to let anyone use them. I'll put them in a bag for my next garage sale. They're shiny, someone will want them, and then they too will put them in their own yard sale someday.
