I have an older Beautyrest latex pillow and it was time to replace it. After checking the local stores and not finding one I went to Amazon. I was hoping for the same pillow but it is not the same. It gives a lot more, I am a side sleeper and want something that will raise my head more while still being soft. I have tried some many pillows. I puchased the memory foam pillows and they actually seem to be too hard, they hurt my ear after a while. I have tried 2 pillows and that is what I am doing but I am still not happy. I wish they would make a higher, softer pillow for side sleepers.Customer Review: Disappointed.

I just received this pillow, and I think it's very uncomfortable. It's just too thick, so my head is propped up too far (I sleep on my back and side), which hurts my neck. I bought it because of all the positive reviews, so I thought I should add my experience to caution others. The only word to describe these pillows is "perfect". They are without question the most comfortable pillows I have ever slept on, and I do mean sleep. No more waking up, punching the pillow back into the shape I want, then trying to fall back asleep. Now I fall asleep and don't wake up until the alarm goes off. The pillows are soft and extremely comfortable, but don't equate soft with lack of support, or conversely firm with hard. Your head sinks softly into the foam and is practically cradled by the foam, but under your head the foam compresses and provides the firm support advertised, again firm, but not hard. When I move, roll over, or whatever, the foam instantly springs back up into shape, unlike memory foam. I don't want a pillow where the shape of my head is deeply pressed into the foam for many seconds as the foam slowly resumes its original shape; these latex foam pillows respond to every movement of my head instantly. I orded latex foam pillows before. But didn't realize they were the medium support. The firm one I accidentally ordered was way to firm for me. The medium pillow was awesome perfect for the side sleeper that I am. It is true the pillows are a little inconsistant with firmness and weight from one to the next (I ordered two mediums before and one is heavier than the other). But still love the latex foam pillow and will order another! And maybe the firm won't be as firm on another, but I will take a medium!
