I have tried all kinds of waterproof mattress pads ( I have two small children that often have accidents) and this is by far the best. It keeps its shape when being washed, thoroughly protects the mattress and doesn't feel or sound like plastic. We were finally ready to move our son to his own room complete with daybed. Our son was still being potty trained so we looked for a way to protect the bed for the inevitable night time accidents from a leaky diaper.
This cover is the perfect solution, waterproof but very comfortable to lay on - you don't hear the plastic at all.
One recommendation, make sure you let it hang for a day or two to let it air out (leftover factory smell) before using.

I have been very happy with this mattress pad. I bought it for my 3 year old daughter who is just getting used to going without pull-ups at bedtime. In the last month, I have washed it 4 times. I wash it on normal settings and dry it on normal heat. While it is a bit tricky putting back on the bed after washing (it SEEMS like it's shrunk) really you just need to stretch it out and then it goes on just fine. It's also very comfortable and doesn't have that plasticy feel or sound to it.
