Tools and Hardware Reviews of Sinometer BT558 Self-powered Battery TesterCustomer Review: It is simple, it works and it is cheap Summary: 4 Stars
Pros:
-Green for good and red for bad. How simple can it get?
-It works for many types of batteries
Cons:
-If Amazon starts to carry this (than a 3rd party), maybe the shipping charges won't be double compares to its price
-When I say cheap, it means cheap in both ways. Price and cheap plastic.
Customer Review: It works! Summary: 4 Stars
This is a pretty handy little tester. The only problem I've had with it is that the opening (swinging the arm up) is meant to be done one handed, with the thumb. If you try that you end up shooting it off into the next room. Best to just pop it open with the hand you're holding the battery in and slip the battery in, letting it close automatically.
Other than that it's great. Even the kids use it.
Customer Review: It works, just not very well Summary: 1 Stars
Pros: It's cheap and it does work.
Cons: 1. The meter needle bounces all over the place, like a bouncing ball. It gives a reading but you have to hold the battery and wait 15 seconds or so for the needle to settle.
Cons: 2. The lever for making contact with the battery is awkward and frequently loses contact. Combined with the bouncing needle problem it's very annoying.
Spend a few more bucks and get something better.
Customer Review: Junk!!!! Summary: 1 Stars
Measures Voltage only. This is no way to check a Battery's state of charge. Buy something like "Delkin Devices DD/BATTEST MULTI RoHS AA/AAA Battery Power Tester", it really Rocks!

Unfortunately, it didn't work. Fortunately, I was credited with what I paid for it after I retuned it.
