Tools and Hardware Reviews of Skil 2372-01 7.2-Volt Lithium-Ion Power WrenchCustomer Review: Airline Line Mechanics Dream Summary: 5 Stars
At an Airline to remain nameless while I was working there, everyone had these. We use them on the line where there is no air for air tools other than a nitrogen bottle. The tool does an excellent job in removing and installing nuts and bolts. It seems to get them just a tight enough for torquing, but not over tightened. If you desire to use German Torque (Good'n'Tight), then run the unit til it stops, and pull your own torgue. This is one of the best tools that I have added to my tool box in a VERY long time. The tool is well built, and appears to be heavy duty. I highly recommend it for all mechanics. A power tool that has no Power Cord, or dragging a bulky air hose to those tight places where you really prefer not to be. The tool is covenant to grab, and comfortable to use.
However, no product is without negatives and I would not be fair not to mention them. I have found 2.
1.) Takes longer to charge that I would prefer, but 1 charge lasts all week (never ran all the way down on me, and I am a heavy user of it).
2.) A little Bulky. In some REAL tight places, it is tough to get the exact right angle... However, I find it works in over 99% of the places I have desired to use it, and is a real time saver.
Overall rating from me would be a 9.8 on a scale of 1 to 10. I love the item, and never want to be with out it. One of the best optional tools that I have added to my tool box, and I would highly rate this for all Aircraft Mechanics in the Hanger or on the line. I am sure that other Non-Aircraft Mechanics would find great uses for this unit as well.

Customer Review: Been long searching for Summary: 5 Stars
Had a Black & Decker cordless Wrench for over 10 years but the NiMH battery dead. I've been searching for such cordless wrench for years untill now. This Skil 7.2-Volt Lithium-Ion cordless wrench has more torque and more efficient for me to work on my car. I expect it to last for many years.
Customer Review: Best bang for the buck Summary: 5 Stars
I actually got this electric ratchet through a mail-in rebate when I bought a set of wiper blades. I'm a full-time Jeep/Nissan technician, so with a $35 ratchet, I figured it would break in a month or so, but what the heck, it was free. This ratchet was probably one of my most used tools because it was compact to fit anywhere, didn't have a heavy battery attached to it and made jobs much faster. I beat this ratchet down 6 days a week for 3 years before the motor on it finally burned out. For an item that cost $35.00 new and it lasted 3 years of constant use and abuse, I would say that this is probably the electric ratchet that you can buy, hands down. Also, it's much stronger than I thought it would be; only being 10 ft. lbs. weaker than my air-powered version. I would recommend this to anyone for any kind of use, and I won't even consider buying anything else.
Customer Review: Broke before project was completed Summary: 1 Stars
At first I thought I was going to love my new Skil 2372-01 7.2 Volt Lithium-Ion Power Wrench after reading all of the great reviews (and the price was a bargain at only $20!). I didn't have an immediate need for it, so it sat charging for a couple of months before I began to build a 4'x 6' chicken coop which wasn't a terribly huge project but it called for an electric screwdriver.
I first drilled holes, but found that I couldn't use 3" screws in them as it made the screwdriver get very hot, like it was being overworked, so I switched to 2-1/2" screws and 1-1/2" screws when working with the plywood (not my preference, but I didn't want to push it with the screwdriver). I used it a couple of days, recharging it after each use. On about the 3rd day, the power got low, so I charged it overnight. When I went to use it the next day it was completely dead and unable to be revived after trying a number of things.
The seller wouldn't take it back because it was after 30 days (though less than a week after its first use). I went to Target, purchased a Black and Decker 6-volt (no wrench feature, but that's okay) and it was only $25 retail price. I finished my coop and chicken run with it, using 3" screws with no problem. In addition, I have never run out of power with my B&D, I charge it at night because I am finished using it, not because it is out of juice like the Skil one was.
I have a Skil jigsaw which I love, but this screwdriver/wrench was a real disappointment.
