I love the concept of this item. I really like being able to shut down all my items with the touch of one button. It makes a lot of sense. It did take some tweaking though to get the product to work properly for me. It took several days of making adjustments each time we turned our computer on and off before it worked properly. You just have to keep adjusting the little wheel until it works. I read some reviews where people said it just did not work, I think they may not have given it enough time. Doing the math, at our current utility rate of 12 cents per kilowatt, the Smart Strip will pay for itself in only one year. In the meantime, it is helping your electronics last longer by shutting them down and by protecting them from up to 2850 joules of surge.

I used this product in place of a surge protector with a manual on/off switch that failed on me. It's very convenient to just have the items switch on and off with the cpu. My only complaint is that the pot you adjust to set the threshold seems a little touchy. I've had to adjust it a few times but I suspect that will settle down shortly.
