Tools and Hardware Reviews of the Smith & Wesson SWHRT3 HRT Military Boot Knife

Tool Review: close but no cigar
Summary: 3 Stars

first off the knife seems to be fairly stout and I think it will hold up for a long time. It came with a decent edge on it albeit ONLY ONE was sharp the other side was shaped but not sharp as indicated in the description. If I had known that I would have bought the black one which was $5 cheaper and has a black blade both of witch I like. Overall a good knife though. The sheath is a different story, It holds the knife VERY securely which when you're trekking through the woods is quite good as I don't feel you would easily loose the knife without the sheath, however when you want to get it out it changes your outlook a little. The sheath also only has a small plastic clip by which to attach the knife to something. It seems really flimsy and doesn't hold the sheath in place very well at all and you actually have to hold the sheath with one hand while drawing the knife with the other which I find very inconvenient.
All in all I like the knife alright and it will do well in my outdoor gear as a good fixed blade knife that stays in the bag when I'm not using it. Otherwise I would recommend either the "Gerber Guardian Back Up" or the "Columbia River and Tool 2020 AG Russell Sting Razor Sharp Edge Knife" for a better knife sheath combination depending on your preferred carrying method. They are both a little more expensive but as I own both I feel they are definitely worth the extra cost.
