I use this to keep my less breakable ornaments. I haven't had any issues with it breaking or cracking, and the snaps have held up just fine, but unless you are individually wrapping your fragile ornaments, it isn't cushioning them at all, and I'd be afraid to put them in there. The dividers are just cardboard, but they work just fine for their purpose, and they can be used to make smaller or larger compartments. I wouldn't add more than the 3 layers to this, even though it's possible to do so.Customer Review: Not too bad.

The idea is clever, and the plastic seems sturdy, but the "snapping" handles look like they could snap off after a good bit of usage. We will have to see what happens. I got this item for our church to store glass ornaments in and it is really great. The trays come apart so you can just carry it to the tree and take the ornaments out and hang them right then. The snaps on the trays and lid that hold this box together are flimsy, so pick it up and carry it by the bottom tray and not by the top handle. Otherwise, I like this box. It's opaque so you can see what's inside, and the dividers keep the ornaments separated so no wrapping is required. Overall, it works pretty well.
