Tools and Hardware Reviews of Solar Powered White Christmas LightsCustomer Review: Lasted only a little over a year - battery case corroded Summary: 2 Stars
I bought this product in November 2007, and I had to throw it away in Spring 2009 after discovering why it stopped working in the middle of winter: the battery case became completely destroyed and corroded by weather.
Customer Review: Lights Go Out in 2 hours.... Summary: 1 Stars
I these lights last no longer than 2 hours. They have been up for 4 days and I am not getting better results as the batteries have days to charge in the sun. I am completely disappointed with them and recommended anyone consider buying these to save your $20... These will most likely just end up in a landfill. Very Sad
Customer Review: Look nice Summary: 4 Stars
The lights worked on the outside tree well. Thay stay on for about eight hours.
Customer Review: Nice lights, rotten battery Summary: 4 Stars
The battery that came with the lights would not hold a charge for more than an hour or so.........I tried multiple times to charge with no improvement. I bought a replacement battery (hard to find and not cheap), and they worked like a charm. Would buy again but was frustrated that the battery they came with was a dud.
Customer Review: Not Bad Summary: 4 Stars
I think I would prefer to give this 3.5 stars.
I like these lights - and the idea that they are solar powered. They are a dimmer blue light (which I actually love). Sadly, though, I think they'd work better in the summer.
The front of my house gets sun late in the day, so they probably only get an hour or two of "full" (late day) sun. So, for me, they turn on and are really pretty - but only last for an hour or two (so by 7:30, they are done for the night).
Really watch your yard - where are you putting them? I wanted them on the bushes, tree right by the house - but I see now my house casts a shadow until about 3. Just take note of your yard for a few days.
Next year, I might invest in more expensive solar lights, or just use regular ones. The icicle lights might work better with a solar charger on the roof.
