Customer Review: Excellent Machine for the Money !!!

I have never had the need for a dehumidifier before the purchase of this, but I recently moved into an old concrete block home with little or no insulation in the walls, and during the winter months I noticed a great amount of water pooling on the window sills and an above average amount of mold growing in the bedrooms and bathrooms. Since I have been using this Dehumidifier, I no longer have a problem with mold growing in the bedrooms or the baths. As a matter of fact, it pulls so much water out of the air, the shower walls are dry in a matter of hours after taking a shower. I run it on medium speed 24 hours a day and can hardly hear it at all. In a days time I have to dump the container due to it filling up.
I would certainly reccomend this machine to anyone who is having high humidity problems.

Just wanted to reiterate what everyone else has said about this dehumidifier: it is a great buy. It is super-quiet and does a great job pulling the moisture out of the air. Our basement has never felt so comfortable. My ONLY complaint is that I have to dump the holding tank almost daily (which is why I gave 4 stars), but that is more a symptom of the amount of humidity in Virginia rather than the dehumidifier (although I guess it could have a bigger tank). Pre-dehumidifier, basement humidity was around 70%. Post-dehumidifier, basement humidity is around 50%.Customer Review: Excellent for Small Spaces!!

Ok, I own not one but two of these marvels. The first one has been running non-stop in our storage room since I bought it about 8 months ago, delivering excellent results. All the humidity issues we were having are gone for good. I just purchased the second one for our master closet which is in the bathroom -we got a mild case of mold- and so far it has been also very good
Pros: Competitive price, portable, silent operation, effective control of humidity, easy to clean, very easy to operate
Cons: A little bit high on power consumption (my electric built went up about 5-10% since I've been using it), not that easy to carry around using the built in wheels

I live in Southern California near the coast where the humidity is high. Dust mites breed rapidly with > 50% humidity. This model is quiet, efficient, looks nice, and is a very reasonable price. I bought it for the bedroom and it has worked out so well at keeping the humidity within the limits I need that I just ordered a second one.
A few notes:
+ This model can't go inside a closet.
+ If knowing humidity matters, buy a humidity guage separately (this unit doesn't include one).

The only significant downside with this dehumidifier is that it has a relatively small water capacity. The device itself it compact, quiet, and lightweight. The settings on the control panel are simple and intuitive, as is the overall design. It is more than adequate for a northern midwest atmosphere.
I run it on low in my basement, and empty the tank every couple of days (usually it's full within 24 hours, but I just don't feel like going down there and emptying it every single day). Sometimes, if it gets particularly muggy, I'll run it on high in the bedroom or living room, and it does an amazingly good job of pulling moisture out of the air (obviously it's not instantaneous, or even as fast as a much bigger or louder unit). I think, on the balance, this unit is an extremely efficient balance between dehumidifying and noise/electric usage.
I've had this unit for about two years, and I haven't any problems with it during that time period.
