This heater is wonderful and I recommend it highly. Before we got this, we had one that just blew hot air and made the room very dry. It used a lot more power and made noise. This one is quiet and doesn't use as much power or dry out the room as much. We don't need to run the humidifier when we use it, and we always did with the other one. It also radiates light so it's a good night light but can be distracting sometimes. I usually like it because it reminds me of the sun which I miss dreadfully during the winter months. If you need a space heater this is definitely the kind you should buy!Customer Review: Great heater, annoying ticking noise

This heater looks great and gives out a lot of heat if you are sitting/standing right next to it. It really works for the purpose I had for it. But, in order for it to be turned on you have to turn on the timer (the dial on the right) which makes this annoying ticking sound. I have a low tolerance for sounds like that, so I got my wire-knowledgeable friend to unscrew the bottom of the heater and do bypass surgery on it--it was a pretty simple fix if you know about that sort of thing and now I don't have to listen to the timer. The timer is a safety feature, but the heater turns itself off if it leaves the level position, so it's already very safe.Customer Review: Great if you want the sun in your room

This is a good heater, quiet, heats fast, spreads it around tiltable, I really like it, except it is so bright I mean REALLY REALLY BRIGHT, I had to return it, beause you can't look towards it if it is on high. It hurts your eyes and leaves light spots on your eyes. Or if you want to use it at night you might want to wear blindfolds.Customer Review: Great product

This heater is great for certain uses, not so good for the others. I keep mine under (and behind) my desk on low (only 400 watts) and it keeps me at a perfect temperature. I used to have a little ceramic box heater I used for the same job, and even on high (1500 watts) it didn't work nearly as well.
With that said, also keep this in mind. When this heater is on, it is REALLY bright. You don't want it pointing at your face. I tried it in the TV room pointing at the couch (with me on it) and it was to distracting. Like looking directly into a 100 watt light bulb. You need this heater either below, behind or beside you. If you can do that, you will be very happy with it.
One more thing to consider. I tried a different Radiant heater before this and it had internal fans to keep it cool. Sounded like a 747 taking off. This one has no fans and is completely quiet, a great thing!
