Tools and Hardware Reviews of Spyderco Tri-Angle Sharpmaker Knife Sharpener 204MFCustomer Review: Beauty In Simplicity Summary: 5 Stars
The Sharpmaker is well named. I have tried very hard to make my Lansky Deluxe system work but only got fair results at best. I used the Sharpmaker on a knife I had very carefully sharpened on the Lansky and saw an immediate and profound improvement. I am an engineer and was drawn to the Lansky angle control system believing that I would have best control with this system. However, in practice, the Sharpmaker gives outstanding results quickly and easily. You literally will be able to get your knives sharper than when they were new and unused. Very few products deliver on the level of the Sharpmaker. Great product. Sharpens more than just knives as well. Watch the DVD as soon as you get it. Then you'll want to sharpen everything in the house. You'll be hooked.
Customer Review: Best Blade Sharpener Ever! Summary: 5 Stars
I recently purchased a knife from Wilson Tactical, and they actually recommended this sharpener. Since Spyderco is a competitor of Wilson Tactical, I figured there must be something to it.
After using a variety of stones, sharpeners, and even Tormek's sharpening System (great for tools), the Spyderco Tri-Angle Sharpmaker is by far the best thing I've ever used on a knife.
There is a set of diamond stones available for reshaping edges (I've certainly ruined a few edges over the years), but they are a little expensive and hard to find. There is also a set of extra fine stones available. Someday...
Anyway, highly recommended. The included DVD is quite good as well.
Customer Review: Best I had Summary: 5 Stars
Well packaged, came with mini book and DVD to make sure the product is used correctly. After watching the DVD I tried to sharpen several knifes.
I started with 3" Shustoff, I followed dirrections and that was easy. The knife is sharp (tested by shaving my hand).
Next one was 8" 10 years old serrated kitchen knife (did not know it can be sharpenned). Followed instruction and about 5-10 minutes later I have sharp knife.
Sharpened my Spyderco Endura with great results - I shaved half of my hand testing :)
The only challange is to sharpen very old fillet knife. It is hard to sharpen very tip of the knife because it is more flexible. I think wit more practice and by doing it on regular bases it should not be an issue.
I did not try to sharpen any other creazy things this sharpener can bring to life - hooks, tools, router bits etc.
I have several friends using same sharpener and they all like results.
Customer Review: Best Sharpener I Bought Ever Summary: 5 Stars
This is easy to use. I put a great edge on knives and scissors. The instruction book and dvd help a lot. This is great for serrated knives too. It is more reliable than a flat stone because the correct angle is easy to maintain. It was also $30.00 less expensive than at the specialty store near my home.
Customer Review: Best Sharpener I Have Ever Used Summary: 5 Stars
Spyderco sharpener and hone is a wonderful tool. I own several stones and a couple of other sharpening gadgets but nothing has put an edge on my knives like the Spyderco. Like many I am sure, I was a skeptic, but after following the instructional video my fishing and kitchen knives are now razor sharp, much sharper than new. Thanks so much.
