Tools and Hardware Reviews of SteamFast SF-275 SteamMax Steam CleanerCustomer Review: This was a great buy! Summary: 4 Stars
Last Saturday (1/19) I bought the Shark Steam Blaster Jr. - Red (S3210R) Spent half the day Saturday steaming! LOL (This is a hand-held model, very similar to the Rainbow Steamer and the Scunci) Overall it worked well. A few minor complaints. The squeegee attachment was useless, water everywhere when I used it on the bathroom mirror.
Many of the complaints I read was the amount of time wasted in refilling/waiting for reheat. I found that you can work out a routine to work around the waiting. The steam lasts for about 15-20 minutes. Then I'd wait 5 min. to cool, let out the steam and refill. I didn't mind the wait.
Bathroom: Overall cleaning the bathroom was a success.
Kitchen- WOW! I was pleasantly surprised that it was strong enough to remove baked on grease on my stove that I've been trying to remove for months! It took a little elbow grease. A little trick I used was to drop very small drops of dish detergent directly on the stain then blast it with the steam! BINGO! Beautifully cleaned the microwave, oven door, granite counters, sink, and tile floor grout!
Unfortunately I could not get baked on grease off the bottom of my pans and I also wanted a floor attachment. - SO... I ordered from Walmart the SteamFast SteamMax Heavy-Duty Steam Cleaner. LOL! I receive it today (1/25) and I already used it in my bathroom. BIG DIFFERENCE from the hand held. Much stronger, less water spray, faster work. Way longer use before refilling (in fact, I dumped water out of it after cleaning the entire bathroom). I'll be tackling the pans baked on grease tomorrow and will let you know.
I'm going to return the Shark hand held.
Also check out Sam's Club.com they carry the Monster SC60 Steam Cleaner It seems a little bit more powerful than the SteamFast.
Customer Review: Very good product Summary: 4 Stars
Really like this machine! Heats up quickly and puts out a lot of steam. Haven't used attachments much except the one for the floor, which I really liked. Love that it is on wheels...easy to maneuver. Would definitely recommend especially for the price.
Customer Review: Very Disappointed Summary: 1 Stars
This is the first time I had purchased a steam cleaner and have been wanting one forever. Needless to say, I was very disappointed when I used it. My oven was not very dirty, but had a few spots from spilling. I used the machine and went over and over it and it would not clean it up. Eventually I had to use a brillo pad and it took it right off. I then attempted to use it on my windows outside and that was a disaster because the hose was not long enough to reach the top of the window so I had to pick the machine up with one hand and try to clean with the other. Very hard to do. The brush attachments were very small and could not be used on bigger items. The only thing I could do with this machine was to steam my floor, but for that I could have purchased just a floor steamer.
Customer Review: Very Good Investment Summary: 4 Stars
I just finished using SteamFast SF-275 to clean the bathroom after taking it out the box and although I worked up a good sweat scrubbing, it did exactly what I wanted it to do. I know already I'm gonna need more replacement brushes so I couldn't give the 5 stars but for the money I'm very pleased. I can't wait to attack the kitchen.
Customer Review: Very Good Steamer for the price. A nice Green Product Summary: 5 Stars
I got this steamer to scrub and clean my stained lanai tile floors. I ended up using it to clean that and more. It did a very nice job with the tile floor.
I use the steam spray to clean and polish all my stainless steel appliances in the kitchen (refrigerator, dish washer, double wall oven, hood). It's a great tool to wash sinks, faucets and areas surrounding the sink (which are hard to clean). I use it to clean counter tops as well. It does a great job in our bathrooms. I also use it to clean the toilets and glass shower doors (removes soap scum), and mirrors, and they come out squeaky clean. It's a neat tool to clean jewelry & small porcelain items.
I bought and tried a small hand held steamer first, but returned it to the store since it didn't have enough pressure or heat. The steam heat in this could have been more hotter. It is not burning heat and will not burn you if you expose yourself to it (it's hot). However, the steam blast and pressure are great, and that helps with the cleaning. Also, it doesn't spit water like some steamers do.
If you want professional level heat, you might have to buy a very expensive model. I got this steamer for under 100 dollars and with free shipping from amazon.com.
This model is more than adequate for home use, and helps one clean without harsh chemicals. It's a nice green product. People with allergies should consider using this steamer. We are on a septic system, and I try to reduce soap and detergent use.
