I bought this steam cleaner after reading dozens of reviews of various steam cleaners. I wanted a machine that would do two things:
1) Clean all of the grout in my tiled floors (kitchen and baths). After reading all of the reviews I really did not know what to think since there are some people who love them all and some who think they are a waste of money. I have concluded that people who did not like their machines must have expected them to do all of the work. If this were just to clean the floors instead of using a traditional mop I would not buy it but it really did the trick for cleaning the grout. Warning, you do need some serious elbow grease but it makes the grout look like new.
2) Clean the beadboard in my guest bathroom. Anyone who has beadboard can attest to the fact that it is very difficult to clean. Prior to the steam cleaner I had to spray cleaner in each vertical groove and use a Q-tip to clean the dirt from the groove (especially difficult at the bottom where the beadboard meets the wood trim). The steam cleaner washes the dirt right out of the groove and just requires a quick dry with a towel.
In addition to working perfectly for the two main purposes that I bought the machine for it is also great for cleaning the other woodwork in the house (with two dogs that is saying a great deal) as well as cleaning the grime for the outside window frames (that groove that the screens fit into that get all of the outside grime caught in them (another old Q-tip job).
As far as the quality of the Steamfast SF-275, it is very sturdy. It far exceeded my expectations as I had only previously seen the Shark products in the store and they look very flimsy.

We have been extremely pleased with this steam cleaner. It's easy to use and it does a great job! It cleaned out yuck that had been on our bathroom threshold since we moved into the house. My husband also used it to clean off some burnt on food on our gas stove. Besides that, we have been using it for our mopping. We also plan to do a deep clean on all of our grout lines with it. I bought the combo pack from Costco, and it's done a great job so far. I've cleaned the rock hearth around my fireplace, terra cotta tile floor, chrome, and a plywood floor and it's done a great job on everything. The machine is very well-constructed, safe, no leaks or burn issues like I'd read about on some of the other brands. Lots of attachments, and they even include a screwdriver for you to attach the handle. This is one of the best values I've found in a long time!Customer Review: Excellent, it works beautifully

This unit does a wonderful job in the bathroom and kitchen. Used in conjunction with spray cleaner it removed buildup from around sinks and shower stalls. I have an oven with sealed top burners. It always gets burned deposits around each burner head. Nearly impossible to remove the deposits. Last night I sprayed and cleaned household cleaner around each burner. I used the brass brush to dig the deposits up. It took some elbow grease, but it got done and looks like new with no scratches! This is the best buy I've made in a long time. It surprised me when the unit arrived and I saw the tons of accessories I got. What a deal! What a deal!
