This product works well and produces steam quickly. I was able to steam a wool jacket, press a shirt (with the included press pad), and steam a silk dress with ease.
When I first assembled the product, I felt that the product was a bit flimsy. You have to be careful when you hang up a heavy item on the hook holder to steam. When I steamed my wool jacket, it almost toppled over but I was able to catch it in time (this was even with the water container filled).
I previously indicated that the reservoir is hard to empty, but I realized after examining the product that there is a drain plug at the bottom. Just make sure the steamer has cooled down before you try to empty out the water (common sense).
Overall, the steamer definitely worked as it should.

I've owned various steamers, some cost three times more than this one and I must state this is the best of the bunch! It's ready to go in 30 seconds and doesn't require multiple passes to take wrinkles out of my curtains or lightweight shirts and slacks. Best of all I don't have to drag out my ironing board anymore! As for storage this steamer takes up very little space in my linen closet. LOVE THIS!
Why only 4stars?
I wish it had a bigger water capacity esp for when I'm doing really big jobs like steaming the 35 curtians hanging around my house that I wash every 4months.

I had another clothing steamer last year that was a little less expensive. It worked okay and did the job, but NOTHING compared to this one.
This SteamFast SF-407 1500-Watt Fabric Steamer far surpases any I've tried. I've used the little hand steamers before too.
The steamfast is the fastest. Not only does it steam the clothing fast but it also heats up quickly.
I totally recommend this to everyone!
It's very affordable too, and I can't imagine that any are any better than this one.
Always used distilled water. That is why my other one broke. But that's okay because I have a better one now.
You can buy counter top water distillers here on amazon which will save you money in the long run.
It's also very good for you to drink instead of tap water. I saw one that made 4 gallons which is what I'm getting. It was the best price. Just look up water distiller.
You can always buy it by the gallon and save up for one if you can't afford it right now.
You will love this steamer though. I give it more stars than the one they advertise on TV (my sister has that one).

I have owned 2 other popular steamers and this steamer is the best one so far (and the cheapest). Even though it came in a big box, it is dummy proof to assemble. I know the steamer looks flimsy but it works wonders! It heats up quickly, it's quiet and it doesn't spit out hot water like the other ones I have used. The steamer is not short, whomever said that just didn't extend it properly, it is definitely tall enough (I am 5'5 and it's taller than me). I use filter water and this helps with the mildew build up. Don't spend money on buying the water- boil tap water, wait till it cools and pour it in (don't use the bottom of the water)
