Tools and Hardware Reviews of SteamFast SF-407 1500-Watt Fabric SteamerCustomer Review: Best clothes steamer for the best price Summary: 4 Stars
Works very well, makes steam quickly, and is ready to use within a minute after turning it on. A shirt or pants takes about 3 minutes each to steam, i usually do all my clothes for the week at once in about a half hour. But we also keep the steamer in the closet and use it for last minute touch up before we go out. I started just using tap water instead of filtered, and have not had any problems. I do drain it after every use though, just in case. There is a handy drain plug at the bottom of the unit. Of course you must use caution with this thing though, it makes hot steam, and the hose is very hot, as it would be with any steamer.
Cons: It could be more stable when hanging clothes from the hanger, the unit tends to wobble. The stand is a bit flemsy also, i broke mine by tilting it and had to add a metal bar. So treat it gingerly when moving it.
Customer Review: Best household tool I have ever purchased Summary: 5 Stars
I don't know what I did before I purchased my steamer. It frees me in the morning when getting ready for work, just steam and wear. It's fast and easy. Thank you Steamfast!!! Keep giving us great products like this.
Customer Review: Best purchase in awhile! Summary: 5 Stars
This steamer is fantastic. It steams up in a matter of seconds, works well and easy to maintain. The only slight complaint is that the hose does get hot, so be careful. My friends have other steamers and this by far is superior. This is a must have - even if you don't know it yet. I bought my unit last year and oddly the price is more expensive today. Aren't we in a recession?
Customer Review: Better than expected Summary: 5 Stars
Great product. Steams wonderfully. I bought a steamer after finding out how easy and versatile they are compared to irons. For the inexpensive price I paid, I was more than impressed by the quality of the product I received. SUPER easy to put together when I received it in the mail! Easy to fill with water and it hold a decent amount for how small the steamer is! Very portal and movable. Easy to store away. Heats up quickly and I have had ZERO problems so far and I use this daily. GREAT PRODUCT!
Customer Review: Better than ironing Summary: 4 Stars
I have a very picky partner that likes ALL his clothes ironed and starched. I HATE ironing! Remembering that a friend had a steamer that she uses in her special events company to process loads of linens I decided to see if purchasing this steamer would shorten the ironing chores. It arrived quickly and I was ready with a huge pile of jeans and polo shirts (a real annoyance to iron!). The steamer was easy to put together and heated up within a minute or two. After hanging a pair of jeans on the hook I followed the suggestion to start at the bottom and work upwards following the path of the rising steam. It worked fairly well but I found that it was harder to do than first thought as I had to use one hand to hold the pants taut as they flailed around on the hanger...I kept wishing I had some support from behind to stabilize the action. Another issue arose after a few minutes with the hose - it has a coiled wire cage at the base of it which is supposed to stop the hose kinking but it kinked just past the end of the support which stopped the steam. I just had to fiddle with it to free up the steam dispensing. It does a surprisingly good job on most items. I found that clipping a hanger (one of those with two clips on a wire frame)to the bottom of the shirts helped to give them resistance to the steamer head. Also there is a handy mitt that can be used to handle collars and button plackets (allows you to press steam head against your hand). Heavy weight denim takes a couple of passes but still was easier than ironing. I also didn't have to starch anything! Yeah!
