Tools and Hardware Reviews of SteamFast SF-407 1500-Watt Fabric Steamer

Customer Review: Exceeded Expectations!
Summary: 5 Stars

If you are on the line of purchasing a steamer, I urge you to do it. However, ANY steamer will not be able to remove stubborn wrinkles from 100% cotton fabrics. This little steamer does an awesome job at steaming lighter and medium fabrics, business and office apparel, and even heavier drapes. I can steam out wrinkles from clothes laying on the floor, or wrinkles out of my slacks straight out of the washer. All in all I would definitely buy it again & again. Just sorry I didn't purchase it sooner!

Customer Review: Excellent buy!

I wanted to share my experience with the purchase of a SteamFast SF-407. "I LOVE IT" this has been the BEST purchase I have ever made. I had procrastinated for years and regret not buying one earlier in my life. Between work, kids and their school, home etc., I do not have time to iron but I do it anyway and hate it. Hate it because of the white streak marks left on my work pants, sweaters and skirts. Once I received the box, opened it and assembled the steamer it took all of about 5 minutes. It was an easy set up, filled the steamer with water and a minute later it was ready to go steaming away! I ironed my clothes for today in a snap and they looked like they just came out of the drycleaners. I am sooo happy. You will not regret it.

Best price for a great value. It takes about 2 minutes for the steam to come, though it does work for a while and produces best results.
I would highly recommend it!

Customer Review: Excellent product for the price.
Summary: 4 Stars

I've had this steamer for over two months now, and I have no regrets that this is what I bought to replace the Tobi steamer that I returned to Costco. Since I have tried fabric steaming, I have given up on ironing my clothes. This method does not require an ironing board, I don't burn clothes, especially the delicate synthetic fiber. I wear a lot of denim jeans, and this easily takes care of the creases along the belt line and the pockets. It's maybe three to four times faster than ironing. It generates steam continuously in seconds until there's no more water in the tank. It's way well worth the price that I paid for it at Amazon, a little over $40. There are a couple of drawbacks, though: 1) The rubber hose can be very hot to the touch, and 2) It "gurgles" a lot, which is a bit annoying. That's why I'm giving it four stars instead of five.

Customer Review: Excellent starting steamer for the price
Summary: 5 Stars

I have had this steamer for close to two years now and it still works great. I bought it when my iron when out, so it was my first steamer and I did not want to spend a lot as I did not know if I would like steaming.. turns out I LOVE steaming :-) I use this frequently, usually do several things at once, whatever I can get on a tank-full of H2O.

Now that I know I love steaming and will never iron again - I am looking for an upgrade.

PROS:
PRICE!
Heats up quickly
Works great - never had a problem in almost two years
Light weight - easy to move and roll out of sight
Fairly tall hanging height - but would like it taller. I am 5' 8".

CONS (what I am looking to upgrade):
Hose gets hot and I frequently say ouch (or $*%&) when using this
Can get tipsy with heavier items
Should use distilled H2O
Relatively small water tank
Taller hanging height
