This product is all right for the garage, but you need to make certain the floor is level in that area or the cabinet shape will distort (this can also happen with metal cabinets) and the doors won't close correctly. The only real problem was the poor design of the door latches. They are more trouble than they're worth. I ended up removing them with a hacksaw blade. The doors still stay closed due to friction at the bottom.Customer Review: Amazingly Better Than I Expected

Even with the large number of good reviews, I bought this cabinet with low expectations. I would have bought a metal cabinet were it not for the issue of rust and corrosion. I doubted that a plastic utility cabinet could be sturdy and have strength enough to be truly useful. When I began to unpack the plastic panels, my doubts multiplied. The panels seemed flimsy. However, when I was halfway through the assembly, which goes fast and is actually quite simple, I could see that the cabinet was going exceed my expectations by a large margin.
The engineering of this product is excellent. The panels assemble to a rigid structure. The instructions are complete and easy to follow. Each shelf is rated to hold 40 pounds and I can easily believe this is accurate. It is actually a joy to see that a product is so well made and fulfills all that is claimed for it by the manufacturer. I only write reviews for items that I really like or which have greatly disappointed me. I think you can see that in the case of the Sterilite Utility Cabinet, it was the former that inspired me.

We just don't have the storage space under the sink for all the pans and gadgets. I picked up one as a trial from Amazon then purchased a second for pots, pans, toaster, deep fryer, etc... for use in the basement. Easy assembly and best deal going on a cabinet style storage in plastic.Customer Review: Cabinets for dummies....... :0)

It took me about an hour to put this cabinet together...perhaps someone bigger and stronger could assemble it much quicker but it wasn't hard to do. I had to wrap my head around how it was supposed to look and then things fell into place nicely. The directions were easy to follow. No problems there.
I needed extra space to store all sorts of things like tupperware, rice cookers, waffle irons and things that don't fit in my small kitchen cabinets. There's really quite a bit of room in this hide-a-way and I'm thrilled to have bought this particular one. It's strong enough for my needs, it looks halfway decent in the back closet and it didn't hit me too hard in the wallet... Don't hesitate to purchase this if you need more storage space. Highly recommended !!

I have one of the 4 shelf utility cabinets and two of the two shelf base cabinets. I used these to replace open shelving which looked incredibly cluttered at all times. These make for a much cleaner, neater, look!
These seem to be quite sturdy. Assembly was not difficult. No tools needed. These cabinets are more than worth their cost.
