Tools and Hardware Reviews of Stiletto TICLW12 ClawBar Titanium Nail PullerCustomer Review: Not bad but expected better Summary: 3 Stars
I am a home owner and do some contract work, hence a tool goo roo. I try to buy the best tools I can so it motivates me to work. Anyhow knowing that I ordered this. It took forever to get from Tool King (not Amazons fault). My first impression is not that good. I was expecting it to be light, it is light but not as light as you would think, I don't think the cost difference is worth the less weight. The finish also leaves allot to be desired there where allot of deep gouges, grinding marks and mold marks. The tool is functional for the price although I already chipped a tooth and can't return it. I was hoping for something I could pull out of my tool belt and people would say that is nice, it really is not that tool in fact I leave it home most of the time because it is not that impressive and I don't want to loose it or break it. I only take it if I know I will be carrying it on my tool belt all day because it is lighter. Anyhow seems to do the job but so does a $12 pry bar.
Customer Review: Small, Lightweight and Functional, but Expensive Summary: 5 Stars
As nail pullers go, this one is first rate for just about anyone but a professional framer. It is extremely lightweight (obviously since it is titanium), but it is also well-designed with two pulling surfaces and excellent angles for generating leverage. It also has a design element represented by the hole near the larger head that allows you to access nail heads that are flush with the wood. This is a big plus and works well. If I were a professional framer, I would like the light weight and ease of use, but might be overly careful of it due to its expense. As a weapon for the Zombie Apocalypse, it would be nice as a backup piece, since you wouldn't get so tired from swinging it. I would, however, want it a few inches longer.
Customer Review: Snapped in the first week...bad sample? I don't know... Summary: 2 Stars
Guy I work with sprung the $80 bucks for the thing. I was standing next to him while building a wall and he tried to pull a 16d common out with it. Snapped one of the teeth right off. Never seen anything like it. Perhaps it was a bad sample, who knows.
dimpler was really cool design feature, though. YMMV. Good luck.
Customer Review: Stiletto Clawbar Titanium nail puller Summary: 5 Stars
Not a contractor here, just a homeowner and I have no experience with the highly touted Sharp clawbars to compare this tool with. However, I love this titanium nail puller. It's very lightweight. The dimpler feature really works by not only reducing the chance of the wood splitting but also making it easier to grip the nail heads under the formed dimples. I was also surprised at how resilient the titanium is against nail heads. After pounding repeatedly on the dimpler with a hammer and pulling maybe 30 large nails with it, I can see that the titanium claws are clearly hardened and do not get dented or scratched by the nail heads. I have not tried it on headless nails to see how it will grip, but it grips very tightly on all those nails with heads that I tried to pull.
Customer Review: Stiletto tools still the best! Summary: 5 Stars
Best nail puller I have used to date. The dimpler option might be a bit overrated, but overall the tool is excellent. The biggest problem, the stiletto is so lightweight, I don't notice when my co-workers try and steal it from my toolbag.
