This thing bites. I used it to lay out stakes about 25 feet away. The light is very dim at this distance, even at night. Then, to double check, I picked up the unit, put it back down again, and repeated the measurements. They had moved 3 inches!! A third try was in between the first two. IOW, it does not self level.
