Tools and Hardware Reviews of Streamlight 51010 Twin-Task 3C 9-Inch UV Flashlight, BlackCustomer Review: Scorpions Summary: 4 Stars
I bought this to hunt scorpions and it works well. It seems a little weak compared to the other brand I bought. I found a better( more powerful) and cheaper (UV only) flashlight online and at our local hardware store. It is a Scorpion Hunter with 14 led lights 395-404nm output. Scorpions (up to 40 ft away with a 5 ft wide beam) It takes 3 C batteries. [...] if anyone is interested. They also have floodlights that are a lot more powerful.
Customer Review: Streamlight Twin-Task UV: excellent if you need one Summary: 4 Stars
This is about the only flashlight I've found with two bands of UV coverage. It's excellent for illuminating UV dyes, and fluorescing minerals, and.. causing pet related biohazards to glow. The xenon (white) light is very bright as well.
Customer Review: Streamlight UV Flashlight. Summary: 5 Stars
This is an excellent quality and well made flashlight for any design. The two levels of UV light give a superior beam to locate mouse urine stains (only tested for so far) but I have great expectations for other applications.
Customer Review: The Streamlight Twin-Task 3C UV -LED Flashlight Summary: 4 Stars
I purchased the Streamlight Twin-Task 3C 9 Inch UV Flashlight, Black (#51010) about a month ago. I'd done a little research online regarding UV lights, especially portable LED Ultraviolet sources and decided, since this light had two UV frequencies of 375 and 390 Nm (the Streamlight Twin-Task 3C 9 Inch UV Flashlight, Titanium #51018, selling for about 1/3 less, uses 6 LEDs to provide just one frequency of 390 Nm), this light might be slightly more useful overall. Since I didn't buy both to compare, I can't...
But I can say that this flashlight is a good quality unit that equals other Streamlight products in quality. I've used a rechargeable Streamlight Xenon flashlight daily in my profession for the last ten years and for my money, so far, it can't be beat! And, this UV/visible spectrum flashlight is great: it puts out far more UV light than I expected to get out of a flashlight with six LEDs. The Xenon lamp puts out a very useful amount of visible spectrum light (to see what you're 'really' looking at. I'm pleased with my purchase, hope you are too!
Customer Review: This UV light works great for tomato worms Summary: 5 Stars
I bought this UV light instead of the cheaper $12 ones because
it has the better UV range (365u) on it.
I had heard that you can locate tomato worms in the dark using
UV, and the first night I used this light I found 8 tomato worms!
The UV just makes them glow in the dark & you can get every one
in very little time.
It works best in the dark of night with the first (low) setting,
but the mid setting (a bit brighter with more white light in it)
also works; however the mid setting is better used at dawn or dusk.
The 'regular' light setting is very convenient because I'm out
there in the dark garden with this thing and it's helpful to have
a regular light also.
A good garden tool & well worth the (reduced $39) price.
