Customer Review: Adventures with the DS C4

Wow! I love this flashlight. Charged it up and took it outside the first night. I heard coyotes in the field across the road. Turned it on, heard a little yip, and no more coyotes. The next day I took the light to work (industrial maintenance). We were having problems with an electronic control board. To see better, I turned my DS C4 on the board. Oops. It burned a hole right through the board, about 1-1/2" in diameter! Wow, that's why they have three different levels of brightness.
When I got home that evening, I walked to where I had seen the coyote the night before. He was still there, dead as a doornail with an 1-1/2" hole burned right through him! This made me start to think of the many uses for this flashlight. My snow blower chute wouldn't turn because it was frozen. I turned my DS C4 on low beam, and aimed it at the ice. Within seconds it melted the ice and I was off and running.
The next day at work, we were sliding 4'x10'sheets of 1/4" plate steel into place to create a new floor area. One sheet needed to be trimmed around a beam. I wondered.....Sure enough, my DS C4 had plenty of power to cut the plate. I've only had this light for a week, but I can see that the uses are endless. The fact that it is rechargeable only adds to fun.
I took my wife to a restaurant we had been wanting to try, but have avoided because it's in a high crime area. She said "Honey, are you sure we'll be safe" I showed her my Stinger DS C4 and her worries were over. What an enjoyable evening. I am sure that other users have had similar experiences with this light.
I would buy the DS C4 again, in a flash.

Weighing 12.8 ounces, the Streamlight Stinger DS LED Flashlight is 8.85 inches long, 1.17 inches in diameter at the body, and 1.62 inches in diameter at the head. The Stinger DS features three brightness levels: producing 180 lumens of light for two hours at the highest brightness, 95 lumens for three hours and 45 minutes at the medium brightness, and 45 lumens for seven hours and 15 minutes at the low brightness. The strobe function has a run time of up to five hours and 30 minutes.
The rechargeable three-cell, 3.6-volt sub-C nickel-cadmium battery (included) saves you time and money and can be recharged up to 1,000 times (charger included). It will steady charge in ten hours, or in two and a half hours on an optional fast, or PiggyBack, charger.

The Stinger DS feature dual-switch technology. Designed for long life and tested at one million actuations, the multi-function, on/off push-button switches are located at the head and tail cap. Convenient and easy to use, each switch independently clicks through all light modes--high beam, medium beam, low beam, or strobe.
