Tools and Hardware Reviews of Surefire G2-LED G2 80 Lumens Runtime: 2 Hours Nitrolon® body LED flashlightCustomer Review: Good tactical flashlight. Summary: 5 Stars
This is the older generation 80 Lumens LED version with an aluminum bezel to help dissipate heat for cooling. The run time is 2 hours rated at a full 80 lumens as clearly disclosed on the manufacturer's product page. The switch is a tactical push button switch on the tailcap so it is made for intermittent on/off in tactical combat situations. You twist the tailcap clockwise to keep it on without having to press the button switch on the back. This is a tactical flashlight so there is no clicky switch option. The little space between the tailcap and the Nitrolon body is for a Surefire Z12 lanyard ring or Z34 kit which includes the para cord and spring clip so you can secure the flashlight to your wrist without dropping it in high stress situations. This model was replaced by a new generation high output 120 lumen LED with the exact same 2 hour run-time specification. I have been very happy with my newer generation G2 LED 120 lumen high output for more than a year now. I do not use it for everyday needs because it's made for seeing and temporarily blinding your target when you need to defend your life with a hand held firearm. Surefire specializes in tactical flashlights. If you want a LED flashlight for everyday use I suggest you find a non-tactical LED flashlight.
Customer Review: Great Light! Summary: 5 Stars
Brighter than my LED MagLite and a third of the size. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for.
Customer Review: Great flashlight for the money Summary: 5 Stars
This is a great flashlight and even better than the more expensive Surefire 6P LED model. It has the same brightness and performance yet has slightly longer run time and is lighter (hard plastic casing rather than metal in the 6P). I actually prefer the G2 because it's easier on your clothes if you like to keep the light in your pocket (the knurled grip on the metal 6P model can tear at your clothing).
Furthermore, the G2 is a lot less expensive so you get more bang for your buck with it yet you get the identical performance.
For super long run time and brightness for a given size, and for the price value, the Surefire G2 cannot be beat!
Customer Review: Great light Summary: 5 Stars
This light is the best light I own. I have one on my belt and on on my AR. This is one of the best LED lights you will find for under $100. This light can be used in all positions when shooting a pistol and is extremely comfortable, not too big - not too small. It does not come with a strobe but the tailcap is comfortable and easy to use.
Customer Review: Great product Summary: 5 Stars
Works great for a longer burn time then the older Surefire.
Very happy with this light.
